White, Sparkling and Rosé <strong>Wine</strong>s:<br />

Bone dry.<br />

2<br />

Not quite bone dry, perhaps a little fuller or with lower<br />

acidity.<br />

3<br />

Dry but rich eg. Australian chardonnay or Alsace<br />

gewurztraminer, or lighter and sweeter, eg. off-dry German<br />

riesling. Tasting notes will clarify this.<br />

4<br />

Medium dry, usually demi-secs from the Loire and rounder<br />

German whites.<br />

5<br />

Medium sweet, the driest of the pudding-style wines.<br />

6 - 9<br />

Dessert grade sweetness, ranging from sweet Loire<br />

chenins to luscious Sauternes and Barsac.<br />
