March Madness<br />
<strong>Engineering</strong> and geology students whitewashed the “M” on the mountain, kissed the Blarney Stone<br />
and enjoyed other fun activities during TCM Day in March.<br />
The tradition in honor <strong>of</strong> the university’s mining and metallurgy heritage d<strong>at</strong>es back as far as 1920<br />
and harks back to the time when UTEP was known as the <strong>Texas</strong> <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> Mines. Students painted<br />
themselves and parts <strong>of</strong> the campus green in honor <strong>of</strong> St. P<strong>at</strong>rick, the p<strong>at</strong>ron saint <strong>of</strong> engineers.<br />
