The other, NEAR DARK. These are just 2
examples of the golden age of cinema 1986-87. Run
out and rent them now! The scary video quality grit
is now at its peak, these movies will never be more
terrifying. If you have been enjoying Dave Grohls
PROBOT then these are the perfect videotrack.
Directors, in no particular order Tim Hunter and
Kathryn Bigelow haven’t done much since. JOSHUA
JOHN MILLER, however, who plays alongside a fresh
faced Keanu Reeves as the baddest, most delinquent

the rock kid vampire, bitter cos he will never grow

Who after some amazingly entertaining hair brain
schemes ( based around protecting his murderous
buddy, who doesn’t seem to care) winds up passed
out on the horn of his VW, from speed and booze
with slayer blasting in the deserted midnight streets
of suburban Sacramento. Windows down and the
system up. DENNIS HOPPER is suitably spooky as
the pot smoking, love dolling peg leg FEK. Who
teams up with the murderer in the last 48 hours
before his arrest. Based on a true story of 16 yr old
Anthony Broussard, who in 1981 killed his 14 yr old
girlfriend and showed his friends the dead body. He
avoided the death penalty by pleading guilty and is
serving 25 to life. Apparently he personally receives
all correspondence about his case which is largely
generated by the films cult status.
NEAR DARK. My favourite VAMPIRE road
movie. Lance Henrikkson leads a troop of blood
thirsty mid western undead through a landscape
of love,violence,betrayal and eventually DOOM. In
stolen cars. The lead girl is cute .The love interest
is sort of a Bacon/Sutherland hybrid struggling
with blood lust. But the star would have to be BILL
PAXTON. This movie features the best bar room
brawl ever!! Billy and young Joshua John are some
cold hearted killers and also really funny .”Bartender
give me two shots of whatever donkeys piss your
shoving down these cocksuckers throats”..... I love
Paxton when he freaks out in ALIENS. He is really
good in the thriller ONE FALSE MOVE and he has
done a bunch of war movies.
Can’t wait for the next 50 years of WAR cinema.
I see Oscars!!. Hollywood will unveil its new Tom
Hanks and shed humanitarian light upon the fucked
up current events. It will all make sense, specially
in the box office. Joshua John tells me he is moving
into directing and has some great ideas for a series
of reality/war/fantasy genre flicks.
