23nd Annual Competition for Writers of <strong>BC</strong> History<br />
Lieutenant-Governor's Medal for <strong>Historical</strong> Writing<br />
Deadline: 31 December 2006<br />
The British Columbia <strong>Historical</strong> <strong>Federation</strong> invites book submissions<br />
for the twenty-third annual Competition for Writers of <strong>BC</strong><br />
History. Books representing any facet of <strong>BC</strong> history, published in<br />
2006 will be considered by the judges who are looking for quality<br />
presentations and fresh material. Community histories, biographies,<br />
records of a project or organization as well as personal<br />
reflections, etc. are eligible for consideration.<br />
Reprints or revisions of books are not eligible.<br />
Lieutenant-Governor's Medal<br />
The Lieutenant-Governor's Medal for <strong>Historical</strong> Writing will be<br />
awarded to an individual writer whose book contributes significantly<br />
to the history of British Columbia. Additional prizes may be<br />
awarded to other books at the discretion of the judges.<br />
Publicity<br />
All entries receive considerable publicity. Winners will receive a<br />
Certificate of Merit, a monetary award and an invitation to the<br />
Awards Banquet of the <strong>Federation</strong>'s annual conference.<br />
