Assessment has become one of the most important topics in educational<br />

research. <strong>EARLI</strong> <strong>SIG</strong> 1 invites researchers and practitioners to share<br />

their perspectives on the question how assessment affects learning,<br />

organizational change and assessment policy at our biennial meeting.<br />

Main themes of the conference are formative and summative classroom<br />

assessment, large scale assessment and assessment policy.<br />

Prof. dr. Joseph Kessels and Prof. dr. Menucha Birenbaum<br />

Two invited symposia: Northumbria symposium and a symposium of the<br />

<strong>SIG</strong> 'Digital testing' of the Dutch SURFfoundation.<br />
