SECTOR 1 MEETING HELD AT THE BARN CHURCH
TUESDAY 10 July 2012 AT 19h00.
1. NOTICE OF MEETING:
Notice of the meeting was given at the previous meeting and was sent out by way of e-mail.

22 nd ,25 th ,27 th ,28 th ,30 th – Various greenbelt, illegal DVD sales, alcohol and drug raids held
29 th – Meeting held with Metro regarding vagrants in greenbelt areas and Golden Harvest park

Bromhof (Walter) – Area near Spar problematic, 2* hijackings, 4* armed robberies, 1* attempted break in.

RRVA (Greg) – (1* house burglary and vehicle theft), 3* Theft out of motor vehicle

Bank Road # 23 (Julia) – Resurgence of smash and grab incidents on Hans Schoeman bridge over highway.
Safe house implemented in case of incident – for children and the elderly to have somewhere to go should an
incident occur

Shiraz Bromhof (Jeff Gambon) – Apologies – All quiet
Cotton Wood Lane (Jolene / Ingrid / Elijah) – No representative
Emerald Gardens (Charles Radbourne) – Apologies – All quiet.
Fenns Oaks – (Eve) – No representative
Island Cove – (Nico & Deon) – 28 May & 28 June – House robbery with motor vehicle thefts, looking to set
up RA with assistance from shadow councillor
Friends of Golden Harvest (Sandy & Dave) – On going initiative to reduce incidents within the park, note
from shadow councillor to call 011-490-7553 (City Power Risk Control) in the event of actual or suspected
cable theft within the park

For follow up on pothole, street light etc issues – Councillor requires reference number to commence

Councillor has been involved with the successful implementation of the Blairgowrie RA – for any residents

Noted that ‘SOS’ is a new company marketing in the area for armed security – anyone with information
regarding this company to please share with the CPF Chairman

Sector Confusion
SAPS statistics for Sector 1 are including Randpark Ridge in the Sector statistics report currently.
Parts of Randpark Ridge falls under sector 2 and therefore is causing incorrect figures being
generated. CPF chairman to email Carmel and Kim to follow up

It has been noted through trend analysis that when Pick it Up is in an area, crime increases in the
region of 30% - please be vigilant on these days
309 dockets filed, 43 successful, 143 withdrawn
419 hrs completed by reservists, more reservists are needed and encouraged to join the training
program

Possible illegal pub
Musos Pub was investigated and found to be now operating only as a paintball range and selling cool
drinks. Neil to advise if there any further concerns
Property Evaluations in Bromhof
The Bromhof community was made aware that should they have received a rates change based on
property evaluations made by the council they may contact Julia for the details of a local resident
willing to assist in doing re-evaluations that may be submitted with their appeals
