Supporting Parents and Students
Student Wellbeing
The Wellbeing Team consists of the:
• Student Counsellor;
• College Chaplain;
• Youth Health Nurse;
• Visiting DEECD Psychologist;
• Visiting DEECD Social Worker.
The Wellbeing staff provide support,
information and referrals for a
full range of health and wellbeing
issues. They also host a range of
events throughout the year including
Harmony Day, National Youth Week
and Wellbeing Week celebrations.
Our Wellbeing Team host morning
teas for groups of students including
young carers and students living
independently, oversee our college
weekly breakfast program and provide
important information to students
through Pathway Program Workshops.
A close working relationship develops
between students and teachers at BSSC.
Teachers will invite students to address
them by their christian name and they
will encourage students to approach
them or email them whenever they
have a question or concern rather than
waiting for a problem to develop.
Pathway Advisors
Each student will have a Pathway
Advisor who will generally be one of
their classroom teachers. They will see
students in class, Pathway Advisor
meetings, assemblies and for personal
interviews. The Pathway Advisor will
develop a good relationship with each
student and be responsible for guiding
them through their studies and assisting
them in developing their Individual
Education Plan.

Classroom Teacher
Teachers will get to know their students
very well. They will lead them through
the curriculum in class and will be
available for help outside of class.
You will receive feedback from
classroom teachers through formal
reporting processes. However, parents
are welcome to contact a classroom
teacher at any time to discuss concerns.
