Joe Lex ’65, MD was promoted to Professor of Clinical Emergency<br />
Medicine at Temple University <strong>School</strong> of Medicine in Philadelphia.<br />
Joe also is an Honorary Visiting Professor at Huê University of<br />
Medicine and Pharmacy in Vietnam. He is scheduled to visit and<br />
teach around the world over the next year, with lectures in Saudi<br />
Arabia, Cuba, France, South Africa, Liberia, Poland, Turkey, and<br />
Argentina.<br />
Carla C. Carter ’67, Founder and President of Carter &<br />
Associates Incorporated, has been named a Worldwide Who’s Who<br />
Professional of the Year in Business Management Consulting based<br />
on her professional accomplishments, academic achievements,<br />
leadership abilities, and years of service.<br />
Maryanne Fiacco Chengelis ’71 went on a mission trip to Piura,<br />
Peru this summer. Maryanne helped built bamboo houses, delivered<br />
food to sponsored families, worked at a free breakfast for needy<br />
children, visited the local <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>School</strong> and brought books for<br />
their classrooms and Library, visited the girls’ orphanage, and<br />
brought Communion to the elderly. She traveled with a fellow Peace<br />
Jam Adviser from Loy Norrix <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> in Kalamazoo, MO.<br />
Ann Marie Bryant Rehlander ’88 was diagnosed with thyroid<br />
cancer at the age of 23. Since then Ann Marie has earned two<br />
Master Degrees in Library Science and in Clinical Mental Health<br />
Counseling and has also written a book, Releasing Your Story.<br />
Currently, she is the Director of Library Resources at Richards<br />
<strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> in Oak Lawn, IL, and is branching out into the area of<br />
public speaking and seminars.<br />
John Morrissey ’94 and his wife, Tiffany, welcomed their baby<br />
daughter, Maura Jane, on April 1, 2013. She joins her older sister,<br />
Taylor (12), and her brothers, Mark (11), Harvey (10), and Luke (2).<br />
John currently works for Walmart Transportation in Grove City, OH<br />
and lives in Columbus, OH.<br />
Nicholas ’00 and Holly McAvoy ’00 Lopez welcome their baby<br />
boy, Davis Robert on April 18, 2012.<br />
Tom Raczka ’00 married his bride, Anna, on June 15 at St. Maria<br />
Goretti in Dyer, IN.<br />
Bob Valentine ’01 opened his own family law firm in 2012, and<br />
celebrated his 100th client signing this June. He and his wife also<br />
welcomed their first child, Sophie Lucille, into the world on June<br />
14, 2013.<br />
Greg ’02 and Julie Lipinski ’02 Rodriguez would like to<br />
announce the arrival of their son, Thomas Gregory. Baby Thomas<br />
was born on December 20, 2012. Big sister, Olivia, is excited for her<br />
new baby brother.<br />
Matt Brooks ’04 is currently working for the Chicago Blackhawks<br />
in the Customer Service Department. As you can imagine he had<br />
an exciting summer with the Blackhawks winning the Stanley Cup.<br />
Matt had the pleasure of “meeting” the Stanley Cup in the team’s<br />
locker room after the big win.<br />
