COURSE OVERVIEW<br />
Learn the basics of <strong>Photoshop</strong> <strong>CS5</strong> <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g<br />
how to utilize layers and master selection<br />
tools. Discover how to work with text, apply<br />
special effects and how to use blend<strong>in</strong>g<br />
modes. Learn how to re-size and prepare images<br />
for web and pr<strong>in</strong>t use.<br />
In addition, this course shall provide <strong>in</strong>formation<br />
on retouch<strong>in</strong>g strategies for your images,<br />
us<strong>in</strong>g tools <strong>in</strong> <strong>Adobe</strong> <strong>Photoshop</strong> <strong>CS5</strong>.<br />

COURSE OBJECTIVES<br />
This course seeks to:<br />
Provide basic understand<strong>in</strong>g of <strong>Adobe</strong><br />
<strong>Photoshop</strong> functions<br />
Demonstrate to students how to create,<br />
edit and manipulate objects<br />
Apply changes to images to enhance the<br />
look and appeal of publications<br />
Enter, edit and format text to meet the<br />
requirements of publications.<br />
METHOD OF ASSESSMENT<br />
Students shall be assessed cont<strong>in</strong>uously with a variety<br />
of <strong>in</strong> class projects .<br />
A f<strong>in</strong>al project/take home exam<strong>in</strong>ation shall also be<br />
used to assess students’ ability to execute techniques<br />
explored <strong>in</strong> class.<br />

All application forms must be returned along with<br />
your orig<strong>in</strong>al certificates by June 8th , 2012, to the<br />
U.W.I, <strong>Open</strong> <strong>Campus</strong>, P<strong>in</strong>e, St. Michael between the<br />
hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.<br />
