COURSE OVERVIEW
Learn the basics of Photoshop CS5 including
how to utilize layers and master selection
tools. Discover how to work with text, apply
special effects and how to use blending
modes. Learn how to re-size and prepare images
for web and print use.
In addition, this course shall provide information
on retouching strategies for your images,
using tools in Adobe Photoshop CS5.
Discover how to use the Red Eye, Clone
Stamp, Healing Brush, Spot Healing Brush,
Patch and Brush tools.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
This course seeks to:
Provide basic understanding of Adobe
Photoshop functions
Demonstrate to students how to create,
edit and manipulate objects
Apply changes to images to enhance the
look and appeal of publications
Enter, edit and format text to meet the
requirements of publications.
METHOD OF ASSESSMENT
Students shall be assessed continuously with a variety
of in class projects .
A final project/take home examination shall also be
used to assess students’ ability to execute techniques
explored in class.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE
All application forms must be returned along with
your original certificates by June 8th , 2012, to the
U.W.I, Open Campus, Pine, St. Michael between the
hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
