Life was easy in my days as cyclist. A well planned season<br />
meant I would start preparing in December and start relaxing<br />
half way through October. You’d choose your most important<br />
events and trained to peak at these moments. After one<br />
of these peaks, the Beijing Olympics in 2008, we started work<br />
on our new team. In 2009 we achieved our<br />
first successes and a proud team was born.<br />
In my mind it seems the team has been there<br />
since a long time, yet this might be due to my<br />
mindset in topsport and activities within the<br />
teams I was part of in the last couple of years.<br />
Now we venture in 2010, the team’s second<br />
year. I’m starting to discover what life’s like<br />
as teammanager. Suddenly these seasons<br />
just seem to keep on going.<br />

In 2010 <strong>Milka</strong> joined our team and we’re now known as the<br />
“Trek-Brentjens <strong>Mountainbike</strong> <strong>Racing</strong> <strong>Team</strong> powered by<br />
<strong>Milka</strong>”. A team with a professional appearance. We’ve got<br />
our unique style, identity, posters, fancards, website, magazine,<br />
communication, support, cars, team truck, sponsors<br />
and riders. This combined is what makes our<br />
team. Our goal? We want to bring two riders to<br />
the startline of the 2012 London Olympics.<br />
May it be clear - we strive to be an internationally<br />
orientated team. And we’re proud of<br />
having reinforced our team with a young Swiss<br />
rider, Lukas Kaufmann. He is joined by a yound<br />
Dutch rider, Irjan Luttenberg, who will be riding<br />
his last year in the U23 category.<br />

My work as teammanager is gaining momen-<br />
pushes on. Preparations, bookings, talks,<br />
tum, shifting my riding career to the back-<br />
contracts, budgets, PR. Deals are made,<br />
ground somewhat. My focus will be with the<br />
partnerships forged. Together we work our<br />
team, and my riding will be limited to certain<br />
way towards our goals in mountainbiking. Sponsors are great events such as the Cape Epic, AlpenTour, Bike-events,<br />
incredibly important. They make our rider’s dream a reality.<br />
In return the riders, and we as a team, do our utmost<br />
the Bart Brentjens Challenge and the Crocodile Trophy.<br />
best to meet our sponsors goals. This synergy, born from Nowadays life revolves around more then just me as rider. I<br />
our shared passion for mountainbiking, converges into the proudly back my riders, team and sponsors. Wasn’t life easy<br />
realisation of our ultimate goals. I am very grateful for this as cyclist...<br />
