SGRNC also recommends the Australian Sports Commission ‘Beginning Coaching General Principles’ online course.
The course contains five modules, covering a range of general coaching topics including the role and responsibilities
expected of a coach, planning, safety, working with parents, communication, group management and inclusive
coaching practices. The course can be accessed anytime at:
PARENTS AND SUPPORTERS
The Club also needs parents and adult players to volunteer for canteen and BBQ duty at the courts during the
season and to help with fundraising. It is a condition of membership that parents agree to volunteer for
canteen/BBQ.
CODES OF CONDUCT
The Club is committed to promoting netball and the personal development of players in accordance with the
principles of good sportsmanship. All players, officials, parents and supporters are expected to abide by the
CNA Codes of Conduct and promote the best interests of the Club and netball. A copy of the codes of conduct
will be provided through team coaches/managers.
COMPETITION RULES
The CNA By-Laws provide details of the competition rules and a copy will be provided to team Coaches. It is
in the best interests of the game and will assist individual players if all members (players, officials and
supporters) become familiar with and gain an understanding of the rules.
INSURANCE
All SGRNC participants/players will be covered by insurance under the ACT Netball Sports Insurance Scheme.
SGRNC does not accept liability for injuries incurred during games or while attending training sessions.
Please note that insurance coverage is dependent upon every player and official signing and submitting the
District Membership form by the due date.
PRESENTATION DAYS & AWARDS
Presentation events are held at the end of the season and all Modified, Junior, Intermediate and Senior players
receive recognition for their participation (such as a trophy). Teams also vote for a Players’ Player and a
Junior Player of the Year and a President’s Trophy is awarded to individuals deserving of recognition for their
