In 2012, another Penrith coach has achieved the Advanced Coach accreditation. JaquaHeddle, coach of our second State League team – State League 3 who finished 3 rd this year- was awarded the accreditation late this year and joins with Colleen as one of the elitecoaches of netball.I also take this opportunity to again mention the achievements of Paige Hadley. In 2012 Paige was invited to the AIS and was frequently called into the NSW Swifts as atemporary replacement player. She was again selected in the NSW 21 and Under team andappointed Vice Captain. The team retained the title for the 5 th year in a row. Paige wasselected in the AIS ANL team as well as the 2012 Australian 21 and Under team that wonthe international series against New Zealand, Samoa and England. This has been cappedoff with selection for the Carribbean tour which left on 14 th November for matches againstTrinidad and Tobago and Jamaica. For 2013, Paige has been named in the starting side for the Sydney Swifts. In our 40 year history Paige is only the second player from Penrith to be selected in anAustralian team.I extend my congratulations to these outstanding achievers.SPONSORSHIPSPanthers continue to be great supporters of Penrith Netball and provided anothersponsorship of $13,000 this year. They also contributed a further $1,000 towards our 40 thcelebrations. We are delighted with the support of our sponsors and thank the following companies fortheir continuing support to Penrith Netball.MTS Netball provided the playing dresses for State Championships – estimated over $5,000.Nepean Aquatic Centre, Fit n Fast, Enhance Clinic, Swimart and Battery World - eachsponsored with $1,500.00.Bateman Battersby continued with their sponsorship of $2,000.00The Good Guys contributed $1,000 cash plus $500 in goods.Crust Pizza also contributed $1,000 along with product vouchers for all clubs to award theirplayersCold Rock Icecreamery re-committed with product estimated to be of $3,000.00 in valuetogether with some other initiatives. The most visible of our sponsorships is the provision by the Penrith Physiotherapy and WorkRehabilitation Centre of physiotherapy services to all our members every Saturday and atthe Night Competition. The co-contribution for this specialist physiotherapy service remainsinvaluable. On current indications I estimate the current value of sponsorship to the Association throughcash and in kind products remains at around $30,000.00 per annum.I continue to ask for your patronage, wherever possible of all sponsors and their products. Isincerely thank all sponsors for continuing to support Penrith Netball.VOLUNTEER SERVICEAgain I thank all Association and Club volunteers. The retention of volunteers continues tobe a battle. In particular I make mention of the need for volunteers to undertake the role ofState Scorer and Timer for our State League commitments. Netball NSW has commencedaccrediting State Scorer and Timers for Divisions 1 – 4 of State League and the provision ofvolunteers, preferably the parents of State League players is essential as the cost to theAssociation of not having volunteers to undertake this role will in all probability result in thenon-acceptance of the team entry.Without volunteers netball in Penrith would not exist. We continue to encourage Clubs tosupport their volunteers by paying for their club executive members to attend our annualdinner and other special occasions. This is really very small recognition for your workersand hopefully it will encourage new workers to come on board.

I sincerely thank those volunteers that have stayed with our sport and also those who havetaken up the rewards of volunteering.INDIVIDUAL RECOGNITION Rodney Watson – appointed as a Patron of Penrith District Netball Assn Cathy Ormerod – recipient of Life Membership of Penrith District Netball Assn Belinda Haviland, recipient of the Penrith Service Award. These fees are set for 1 year.St Clair raised a concern with the increase; not sure how they will explain to their members. It was pointed out that for the last several years the only increases passed on by PDNA wereNetball NSW increases (mainly covering insurance) and due to increased costs in runningPDNA (electricity, court fees from Penrith Council, maintenance of grounds), a smallincrease was necessary.Moved B Olsen, seconded St Nicholas that the fees be accepted.Carried8.
