Note: The present work is a rare and early student work by the
artist and retains an undated partial student artwork exhibition
tag affixed verso. Provenance: Private Collection, San Dimas,
CA. Visual: Generally good condition. Minor craquelure in the
painted areas, one collage element slightly bent in the right
center. Blacklight: No evidence of restoration under blacklight.

Note: A Disney animator and one of a group known as Disney’s
Nine Old Men, Ward Kimball created the character of Jiminy
Cricket from ‘Pinocchio’, characters from ‘Alice in Wonderland’,
the famous musical number from ‘Three Caballeros’’ and much
more. Kimball was awarded the Academy Award for Best
Short Subject in 1970 for the educational animated cartoon ‘It’s
Tough to Be a Bird’’. Provenance: Private Collection, Tracy, CA.

Provenance: Property of the Women’s Twentieth Century Club,
Eagle Rock, CA. Visual: Generally good condition with scattered
marks and scratches primarily on the base. General dust
accumulation commensurate with age. A repaired crack on the
base across the right foot of the Bass Player.
