Picard, Council 8978, Sulphur, the motion unanimously carried. Reproduction <strong>of</strong> these minutes appear in this<br />

report beginning on page 30.<br />

<strong>State</strong> Deputy Davidson then called for the report <strong>of</strong> the <strong>State</strong> Warden, recognizing <strong>State</strong> Warden Vernon<br />

Ducote, Council 8342, Prairieville, for this purpose. <strong>State</strong> Warden Ducote presented his report and upon its<br />

conclusion, he moved for its acceptance. The motion for acceptance was then presented by Nolan LeBlanc,<br />

Sr., Council 1087, Donaldsonville, and was seconded by Nolan LeBlanc, Jr., Council 1087, Donaldsonville.<br />

The motion carried without dissent. The report <strong>of</strong> the <strong>State</strong> Warden can be found starting on page 31.<br />

Calling for the report <strong>of</strong> the <strong>State</strong> Office Administrator, the <strong>State</strong> Deputy then recognized Robert<br />

Boudreaux, Council 3202, Lafayette, for this purpose. The <strong>State</strong> Office Administrator then rendered his report.<br />

Upon its completion, Leonard Boudreaux, Council 4787, Hathaway, moved for its adoption and reference<br />

to appropriate committees. Seconded by Harry Jones, Council 3015, Sulphur. The motion carried<br />

unanimously. The full report <strong>of</strong> the <strong>State</strong> Office Administrator is reproduced in these proceedings, beginning on<br />

page 32.<br />

<strong>State</strong> Deputy Davidson then called for the report <strong>of</strong> the Master <strong>of</strong> the Fourth Degree, recognizing Master<br />

Gerard Thomas for this purpose. Master Thomas presented his report and upon its conclusion, he moved for<br />

its acceptance. The motion for acceptance was then presented by Jonathan Landry, Council 10606, Belle<br />

Rose, and was seconded by Francis Zabrowski, Council 1357, Natchitoches. The motion carried without<br />

dissent. The report <strong>of</strong> the Master can be found starting on page 80.<br />

MDF Awards were then presented. A complete list <strong>of</strong> MDF Awards can be found in the Awards Section<br />

<strong>of</strong> these proceedings beginning on page 110.<br />

Under “special orders” <strong>of</strong> the <strong>State</strong> Council’s By-Laws, in Section 6:1, the <strong>State</strong> Deputy then called for<br />

nomination for <strong>of</strong>ficers <strong>of</strong> the <strong>State</strong> Council and representative and alternate representatives <strong>of</strong> the <strong>State</strong> Council<br />

to the <strong>Annual</strong> Supreme Council Meeting. With the new balloting and counting procedure, all nominations will<br />

also be closed on the first day. He explained that our by-laws allow a maximum <strong>of</strong> three minutes for making a<br />

nomination and that nominations shall not be seconded. Davidson emphasized that all nominators must submit<br />

a written report <strong>of</strong> their respective nominees’ names along with mailing addresses, council numbers and membership<br />

numbers to the <strong>State</strong> Secretary; and if the nomination is for <strong>State</strong> Deputy or insurance representative,<br />

a <strong>Knights</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Columbus</strong> insurance certificate number <strong>of</strong> the nominee must also be provided in the written report.<br />

The <strong>State</strong> Deputy further advised that the ballots would list candidates in alphabetical order. Besides those<br />

<strong>Knights</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Columbus</strong> already entitled to the floor, any third degree member in good standing can be granted the<br />

privileges <strong>of</strong> the floor for the purpose <strong>of</strong> submitting a nomination; however, such action must be approved by<br />

the assembly. Printed nomination forms are available at the <strong>State</strong> Secretary’s Registration Desk. Davidson then<br />

opened the floor for nomination for <strong>State</strong> Officers and the following nominations were received:<br />
