<strong>November</strong> 7, <strong>2012</strong><br />

“Preparing Students for Their Future”<br />

FL Moffett: Grant Gregory, Destiny Tinner, Triniti Bell, Maria Smith and<br />

Letavious Falcon<br />

Grant Gregory is in Mrs. Haley Link’s Pre-K4 class. His favorite subject<br />

in school is the Library <strong>Center</strong>. His role model is his Mommy. When he<br />

grows up, he wants to be a teacher or a taxi driver. He likes to play with his<br />

Spiderman mask, loves to draw, and likes playing with his little brother, Ty.<br />

Grant was chosen as Rider of the <strong>Week</strong> because every time you see him, he<br />

is doing his best and setting a good example for others. He is friendly, kind,<br />

and helpful to the friends in his room. He works hard to be the best he can<br />

be.<br />

Destiny Tinner is in Mrs. Haley Link’s Pre-K4 class. Her favorite subject<br />

is PE with Mrs. Shirley and her role model is Mrs. Haley. When Destiny<br />

grows up, she wants to be a princess. She enjoys playing in centers, reading<br />

books and riding her bike. Destiny was chosen as Rider of the week because she has a bright, beautiful smile that she<br />

shares with everyone she sees. She sets an example for others in the classroom, in the hall, and everywhere she goes. She<br />

is helpful to the friends in her room and works hard to be the best that she can be.<br />

Triniti Bell is in Mrs. Joan Hayes’ Kindergarten class. Her favorite subject is Social Studies and her role model is Super<br />

Girl. When she grows up, Triniti wants to be a princess. She enjoys going to girl scouts, playing baseball and playing<br />

outside. Triniti was chosen as Rider of the week because she is an excellent role model for other students. She follows<br />

rules, uses her time wisely, and is kind and helpful in school. She has a smile for everyone she meets and is a joy to be<br />

around.<br />

Maria Smith is in Ms. Lesleigh Fitzgerald’s Kindergarten class. Her favorite subjects are math and science and her<br />

role model is her mom. When she grows up, Maria wants to be a cheerleader. She really enjoys playing with her toys at<br />

home. Maria was chosen as Rider of the week because she is kind and helpful in school. She follows the rules and has a<br />

smile for everyone she meets.<br />

Letavious Falcon is in Mrs. Michelle Covington’s Kindergarten class. His favorite subject is Science Discovery <strong>Center</strong>.<br />

His role model is God and when he grows up, Letavious wants to be a policeman. He likes to read books and to play outside<br />

with his brother, sister, and friends. Letavious was chosen as Rider of the <strong>Week</strong> because he is a great role model for<br />

other students. He follows rules, listens and does his best without having to be reminded.<br />

<strong>Center</strong> Elementary: Nathali Abella and Israel Ramos<br />

Nathali is in 2nd grade and loves art because she likes to make pretty things. Her<br />

role model is her mom because she is there when Nathali needs help homework and is<br />

always nice to her. When she grows up, Nathali wants to be a doctor for kids. She loves<br />

going to recess and playing with her baby sister at home. Nathali was chosen as Rider<br />

of the <strong>Week</strong> because she is a phenomenal student. Although new to the US, she is one of<br />

the best students in the class. She gives everything her best without any complaint and<br />

enjoys helping others. She always has a smile. She always does the right thing, even<br />

when no one is watching.<br />

Israel Ramos is in 2nd grade and loves to read books like “Garbage for Breakfast.”<br />

His role model is his dad because he helps him with everything. When he grows up, Israel<br />

wants to be an auto mechanic. He loves to play swim at his house and to play with<br />

snow balls. Israel was chosen as Rider of the <strong>Week</strong> because he always does his best. He<br />

is the example for ‘Riders Stride’ and is the best ‘listener’ in class. He always treats his<br />

classmates respectfully and never draws attention to himself. He does things simply<br />

because it’s the right thing to do.


<strong>Center</strong> Intermediate: Emmanual Chavez and Tatum Mettauer<br />

Emmanual Chavez is in 4th grade. His favorite subject is math and his<br />

role model is his brother. When he grows up, Emmanual wants to be a soccer<br />

player. He really enjoys playing soccer and just having fun. Emmanual<br />

was chosen as Rider of the <strong>Week</strong> because he is a great student. He tries<br />

hard in everything he does. Emmanual always puts forth his best effort<br />

and is always the first one to help his friends.<br />

Tatum Mettauer is in 4th grade. Her favorite subject is science and her<br />

role model is her aunt, Amber. When she grows up, Tatum wants to be a<br />

Pediatrician. She enjoys playing softball, going to gymnastics, cheering,<br />

and spending time with her family. Tatum was chosen as Rider of the<br />

<strong>Week</strong> because she is a very sweet girl who tries her best in everything.<br />

Tatum is caring and goes above and beyond for her friends and teachers.<br />

<strong>Center</strong> Middle School: Alexis Barlow and Sadarion Walker<br />

Alexis Barlow is an eighth grader at CMS. She is very active, participating in band, tennis, JCC,<br />

going to church, and spending time with family and friends. Her mom is a big influence on her life<br />

because Alexis thinks she is the most caring, kind-hearted, loving person she knows. She always<br />

has something to give, no matter what the situation is. Alexis is having a great year so far, enjoying<br />

all her classes. Alexis has an interest in science, which will serve her well as she plans to attend<br />

Texas A&M to pursue a degree in Health and Kinesiology to become an athletic<br />

trainer. Alexis was chosen as a Rider of the <strong>Week</strong> because she is a fantastic<br />

student in class. She does excellent work, and is always quick to help out in<br />

any way she can. She is one of the shining stars in eighth grade.<br />

Eighth grader, Sadarion Walker, is all about football! He has dreams of<br />

being a professional athlete, with a career as an athletic trainer. His loves to<br />

watch LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints play football. His older brother, LaMarcus Goodwin,<br />

taught him a lot about football, and about life in general. LaMarcus is a big influence in some of<br />

the decisions Sadarion makes. This year has been the best year so far, according to Sadarion, with<br />

his favorite class being Career Exploration/Technology. In his spare time, he plays sports, watches<br />

action movies, and likes to ride roller coasters when he has a chance. Sadarion is one of those students<br />

who comes to class with a smile on his face, and is courteous to those around him.<br />

<strong>Center</strong> High School: Clarisa Varela and Jamie Hubbard<br />

Clarisa Varela is a Junior whose favorite subject is English. Her role model is her<br />

older sister, Claudia Varela. After high school, Clarisa plans to attend Texas State University<br />

in San Marcos, Texas to pursue a degree in radiology. She enjoys reading and<br />

spending time with her family and friends. While in high school, she has been active in<br />

Beta Club, band and is a Chaparral. Clarisa was chosen as Rider of the <strong>Week</strong> because<br />

she is a wonderful person and student. She has a charismatic personality and an infectious<br />

smile. Clarisa has many goals that she will undoubtedly achieve because of her<br />

tenacious spirit. She is active in many organizations and is a great example of what a<br />

student at CHS should be.<br />

Jamie Hubbard is a Freshmen whose favorite subjects are Biology, Spanish, and<br />

World Geography. His role models are Reggie Bus, Derek Rose, Usain Bolt, Robert<br />

Griffin III, and KJ Garrett because they are good athletes who are not afraid to take a<br />

chance. They all have won awards for they’re hard work and dedication to the community.<br />

He just wants to achieve the same goals they have and to have people look up to<br />

him. To him, they believe in the words “never quit” and so does he. After high school,<br />

Jamie wants to attend either LSU, Oregon State, TSU or Texas Tech. He wants to be<br />

someone who changes lives and makes a difference. Jamie likes to dance and sing. He<br />

participates in football, basketball, and track. Jamie was chosen as Rider of the <strong>Week</strong> because he is a great student but<br />

an even better person. He is a tremendous asset to C<strong>ISD</strong> and someone that CHS is proud to claim as it’s own. Jamie believes<br />

in helping others above himself. He is a very talented young man and has many goals that he will surely have no<br />

problem achieving.
