EXCLUSIVE!
The new Fermob catalogue makes its
first official appearance at the IMM
trade show. As ever, this fun, colourful
new catalogue is bursting with ideas…
perfect for browsing and inspiration,
whenever you need it!
Large tables by Fermob, for ever more welcoming
outdoor spaces!
Ever since the company's creation, Fermob has been designing and producing furniture that is a pleasure to
live with, joyful and functional, practical and simple, colourful and well designed.
Fermob’s new large tables are perfect for spending time outdoors with family or friends!
BIARRITZ ® , THE DESIGN-CONSCIOUS TABLE
Great, some last-minute guests! With its two side extensions, the Biarritz
table can be converted from 2 to 3 metres in length in no time…
perfect for improvised lunches and impromptu dinners! It also makes a
great buffet table... quick, it's time to organise a garden party!
This spacious item of furniture is also ideal for children's games and as
a work space for adults. Its sheer size makes it perfect for spreading out,
whether it's children's crayons or some serious work documents.
Facto and Plein Air chairs are an ideal accompaniment, but this table’s
modern look goes just as well with Luxembourg and Dune seats, too.
Biarritz is available in every shade of the Fermob colour chart!
LUXEMBOURG TABLE ® , SO FRENCH
The Luxembourg range, Fermob’s iconic collection, is growing to include
a new large, welcoming and informal table measuring 2m x 1m!
This new article is the ideal addition to the Luxembourg collection and sits
perfectly with the now-legendary Luxembourg chairs – a reinterpretation
of the eponymous armchairs from the Jardins du Luxembourg in Paris –
and the large bench. Together, these articles make the perfect combination,
with sleek lines typical of the French style of the 1920s and the slats for
which the range is famous.
With room to seat 8 to 10 people, it is ideal for large summer get-togethers
among family or friends. It is spacious yet light and sturdy – great for having
breakfast in the sunshine, lunch in the shade of the trees and dinner on the
patio! The ideal decor for every occasion!
Fermob continues to liven up exteriors
with a myriad of new products!
LATITUDE ® , FREE SPIRIT
The reborn Latitude chair is the result of a collaboration between Fermob
and Pascal Mourgue. This new article continues and develops the same
themes addressed with Dune and Bistro. This single creation combines the
simplicity and ease of handling for which Bistro is famous with the patented
work behind the tension of Dune’s seats and backrests.
Latitude combines Metal and OTF (Outdoor Technical Fabric) with
ultra-graphic, slender forms. The result: the steel makes this chair perfect
for everyday use, while the fabric seat and backrest make it exceptionally
comfortable to sit on, with no cushion needed! Inexpensive well-being…
simply irresistible!
It is light and easy to live with: it simply folds away when it is not needed,
and takes up no space at all.
As with previous collaborations between Fermob and Pascal Mourgue, the
Latitude chair also has other surprises up its sleeve: this two-tone chair can
be customised!
The upper section of the backrest is available in the colour of your choice,
offering no fewer than 400 possible combinations! So what are you
waiting for? Start experimenting with colour now! Whatever combination
you choose, you can be sure that it will subtly accentuate and enhance the
unique design of this all-new creation!
This contemporary take on the Bistro chair (originally created in 1889 just
like the Eiffel Tower), with its irresistible price tag, goes perfectly with all
Fermob tables and (why not?) also with Origami and Cargo for a sleek
urban look.
Latitude features an environmentally-friendly design as part of "Eco-RA",
a regional campaign organised alongside the 2010 International Design
Biennial in Saint-Etienne, where a prototype of the chair was unveiled. The
chair can be fully recycled (the fabric via a patented process and the steel
frame through standard international recycling channels), once again
demonstrating Fermob’s genetically-coded commitment to protecting the
environment.
INSIDE OUT ® , THE EXCLUSIVE COLLECTION DESIGNED BY
ANDRÉE PUTMAN FOR FERMOB: FINALLY AVAILABLE IN ITS ENTIRETY!
In 2010, Fermob created a buzz when it invited Andrée Putman to design a
brand-new collection, using bold and original materials, that could be used
both indoors and outdoors: The result was "Inside Out", which was unveiled
in a sneak preview at Maison&Objet in September 2009. For 2011, the
whole range is finally going to be revealed – it's set to be an unmissable
occasion for a collection that lives up to the high standards of the Putman
and Fermob names.
Inside Out dares to cross the boundary between indoor and outdoor furniture.
Moreover, the collection plays on the differences between earth and sky,
taking inspiration from one of the greatest aeronautical innovations:
Concorde, the interior of which Andrée Putman designed for Air France in
the 1960s and updated in 1994!
The seats of the chairs, armchairs and sunloungers are a take on the airliner's
seat belts: for a long time, Andrée Putman has wanted to reuse and
show off "this pretty ribbon that is so often ignored".
A number of tables have also been designed: as ever, they're made from
steel, and are available in a variety of heights and sizes (70 × 70cm and
70 × 140cm for dining tables, 70 × 70cm and 35 × 35cm for low tables).
Their lines – clean, crisp and simple – further highlight the elegant, airy
theme behind the collection.
You won't be able to resist the temptation to mix and match them with the
other pieces in the Inside Out range, ensuring your garden that never stays
the same for long! What's more, as they are available in every Fermob
colour, you can let your creative juices flow and explore the most striking of
contrasts!
This year, with Inside Out, gardens everywhere will be bursting with style
while remaining chic, elegant and delicately understated!
Won over by this idea, and overcoming all sorts of technical constraints,
Fermob worked to transform this "ribbon" into a refined, highly resistant
and comfortable weave material of the highest quality capable of withstanding
the great outdoors. The braided ribbon gives the product a certain
elegance while remaining unmistakably inspired by air travel.
As exceptional collaborations often go hand-in-hand with exceptional
innovations, Fermob has also produced special frames for this range that
are the embodiment of lightness and restraint. They are made from a
highly resistant aluminium alloy used in aeronautics. The colours chosen
are deliberately deep hues that are resolutely elegant, with echoes of both
the natural world and the unique universe of Andrée Putman.
Accordingly, the straps are available in intense shades of blue (Night), green
(Olive) and grey (Pearl). They play with the light wonderfully, creating
satin-like reflections for a superb iridescent effect!
BISTRO CHAISE LONGUE ® , THE ULTIMATE IN RELAXATION
The Bistro chair, which has just celebrated its 120th birthday (the same
age as the Eiffel Tower), is as popular as ever!
This historic design has been passed on to Fermob, and the brand continues
to write new chapters in its history. Fermob has joined forces with Patrice
Hardy to create an ultra-comfortable chaise longue version of Bistro.
The Bistro chaise longue continues with the same simplicity and practicality
that have made the range a success, creating a product that is extremely
easy to use. The full extent of the chaise longue can even be enjoyed on a
balcony, as the product folds away in no time! As a folding item of furniture,
it is also the perfect travelling companion... picnics will never be the same
again!
And, as with all other items in the collection, the Bistro chaise longue
combines its iconic French styling with the brightest shades for the most
colourful gardens.
ELLIPSE ® , RELAX IN STYLE
With Ellipse, designed by Pascal Mourgue, Fermob has invented the perfect
garden lounge for… doing absolutely nothing!
The Ellipse bench is a reinterpretation of the urban metal bench that graces cities
worldwide, with an added touch of comfort, design and lightness (the three-seater
bench weighs just 20 kg).
It is available in two- and three-seater versions, with its airy metal frame and
welcoming OTF seat carefully crafted for the well-being of its occupants. The seat
also combines flexibility and support, adapting perfectly to the body's contours.
Furthermore, transporting it couldn’t be easier, as it’s almost twice as light as a
classic Louisiane bench. You can move your garden furniture around to your
heart's content! Ellipse is available in 13 OTF colours to suit all tastes.
Take one of each type of bench (194 and 130 cm) and add a low table (110 x
90 cm) with the same metal-rod frame, and you have an outdoor lounge that
lends itself marvellously to those endless discussions with unexpected confidences
and laughter floating through the summer evening air.
FERMOB, THE COLOUR EXPERT
Fermob is a key player when it comes to colour, working tirelessly to create new designs and push the boundaries
of its colour range to offer its customers outdoor spaces full of joy and vitality.
Every year, Fermob designs new colours or adjusts its existing shades to create perfect colours that are even
more subtle and even more... unique.
In addition to its exceptional colour chart, Fermob also places its know-how at the disposal of customers by helping
them to find and install the perfect colour combinations for their projects.
For 2011, four new colours will be joining the metal colour chart and the OTF colour chart will feature three
brand new shades. Outdoor spaces will love these new colours!
FERMOB, DESIGN, COLOUR AND NATURE
Loving, protecting and enhancing nature by creating furniture that works in harmony with its surroundings…
Fermob’s activity is focused on the outdoors, so it is only natural that the company should place the values
of sustainable development and respect for the environment at the heart of its culture and manufacturing
processes.
Metal: environmentally responsible and endlessly
recyclable
Metal – specifically steel and aluminium – is the principal raw material that
goes into making Fermob furniture. It is also one of the rare materials that
benefits from an economically viable recycling process worldwide. Today,
98% of metals are recycled globally. This means that Fermob can guarantee
that its furniture is not only recyclable, but – more importantly – actually
recycled!
Environmentally friendly paints
The powder paints used by Fermob contain no solvents and are applied in
a zero-waste facility. They are 100% recyclable – and 100% recycled –
and pose no danger whatsoever to the health of our teams, our customers
or the environment.
Recycled fabrics
To procure its Outdoor Technical Fabrics (OTFs), Fermob selects only the
most rigorous suppliers in terms of sustainable development. Ferrari, the
main OTF supplier, has committed itself to a unique, patented recycling
process, Texyloop ® which guarantees that 100% of the fabric constituents
are recycled.
This approach means that:
• OTF offcuts are salvaged and recycled
• fabrics are recycled when they reach the end of their lifespan
And recycled packaging, too!
Fermob has been participating in the Eco-Emballages ("Eco-Packaging")
scheme for a number of years.
Continually improving to reduce our environmental
impact
Optimising energy consumption remains one of Fermob's key concerns, as
regularly illustrated by concrete action such as:
• the optimisation of the paint-line process, resulting in a 10°C reduction
in paint-oven temperatures, together with a recent 30°C reduction
in stoving temperatures
• the use of a new adhesion technique that can be implemented at
any temperature, thus removing the need to superheat the bonding
surface
Eco-designed furniture
At Fermob, eco-development isn't anything new. Our product development
and design teams are convinced that creation and innovation need not
come at the expense of either good design or sustainable development, and
as such strive to remove all superfluous elements and make optimum use
of raw materials, with lightness being a prime consideration. However, this
lightness does not in any way compromise the sturdiness of our products,
as proved by the Costa chair, which at just 2800 g can withstand even the
most vigorous of destruction tests.
Fermob is ISO 14001 certified
In March 2010, Fermob was awarded ISO 14001 certification, having passed all three key accreditation stages in just one year,
instead of the three years that are typically required. The first stage, validated in February 2009, was followed by the completion of
the second stage in October 2009, before final certification was awarded in March 2010.
The ISO 14001 standard – the most frequently used of the ISO 14000 range of standards – relates to environmental management, and is based
on the principle of continuous improvement in environmental performance by reducing the impacts associated with the company's activities.
This certification provides official recognition of the range of actions that have been in place at Fermob for many years now. Indeed, respect for the
environment is second nature for Fermob, as if it were written into the company's genes. Fermob cultivates this value and applies it both to its
everyday processes and its best practices: indeed, the speed with which the company achieved ISO 14001 certification illustrates this fact perfectly.
