HOW TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE<br />
The <strong>JP</strong>-<strong>8080</strong> is equipped with a flash memory allowing updates<br />
of the program version from MIDI.<br />

◆ WARNING!!<br />
READ THIS BEFORE STARTING THE VERSION UPGRADE:<br />
(1)The <strong>JP</strong>-<strong>8080</strong> might not start up if mistakes are made in the<br />
version upgrade procedure or the power is cut during<br />
operation. Always comply with the procedure listed below<br />
and PLEASE! never turn off the power during operation.<br />
(2)The user data area is used as the job memory during the<br />
version upgrade. This means that user data will be<br />
deleted. Be sure to make a backup copy of the user data<br />
before attempting the version upgrade.<br />
◆ NOTICE:<br />
(1)The software update disk(17048696 <strong>JP</strong>-<strong>8080</strong> Ver.UP<br />
DISK) consists of a floppy disk(3.5inch) and a list of Checksum.<br />
Obtain the latest version from the service center.<br />
(2)The program is converted and saved as Standard MIDI<br />
Files(SMF). A sequencer that can play SMF data is<br />
required.(e.g. SB-55, XP-50/60/80)<br />
