<br />
To assist the Network Manager in the efficient operation of the <strong>Academy</strong>’s<br />
ICT systems.<br />
Principal Accountabilities<br />
<br />
The duties outlined in this job description are in addition to those covered by<br />
the Local Government Terms and Conditions Document. It may be modified<br />
by the Principal, with your agreement, to reflect or anticipate changes in the<br />
job, commensurate with the salary and job title<br />
Key Roles:<br />
1. To assist in the maintenance of the academy’s ICT networks.<br />
2. To assist in the installation of new and existing software across the network.<br />
3. To provide technical support for all users, curriculum and administrative.<br />
4. To assist in the development and maintenance of the academy’s web site<br />
and Intranet.<br />
Key Tasks:<br />
To assist in the maintenance of the academy’s ICT networks<br />

To provide support for the academy servers and associated routines,<br />
including responsibility for administering backups during holiday periods;<br />
To provide hardware and software support for workstation PCs and laptops;<br />
To monitor the efficiency of the academy’s networks;<br />
To maintain all peripherals within the academy;<br />
To be responsible for ordering and maintaining stocks of all consumables,<br />
and placing other orders as requested.
To assist in the installation of new and existing software across the network<br />

To perform complete installations on new PCs/laptops;<br />
To install, configure and maintain anti-virus software across the network.<br />

To configure and maintain all software applications for consistent use;<br />
To provide support to users in the use of the academy’s Management<br />
Information System.<br />
To assist in the development and maintenance of the academy’s web site and<br />

To assist in designing and uploading pages for the web site and Intranet.<br />
To assist in removing out of date material from the web site and Intranet.<br />
To support staff, who wish to contribute material to the web site and Intranet.<br />

Special Conditions of Service<br />
Because of the nature of the post, candidates are not entitled to withhold information<br />
regarding convictions by virtue of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974<br />
(Exemptions) Order 1975 as amended. Candidates are required to give details of<br />
any convictions on their application form and are expected to disclose such<br />
information at the appointment interview.
Because this post allows substantial access to children, candidates are required to<br />
comply with academy procedures in relation to Police checks. If candidates are<br />
successful in their application prior to taking up post, they will be required to give<br />
written permission to the academy to ascertain details from the Metropolitan Police<br />
regarding any convictions against them and, as appropriate the nature of such<br />
convictions.<br />
