391. Stripped Dog Competition - Dogs eligible to enter should be AKC recorded champions and will not be<br />

required to compete for Best of Breed Competition. Entry fee for each dog is $12.00. Dogs participating in<br />

Stripped Class must not have any hair length on body or legs that exceeds two inches in length and may be shorter<br />

if desired. Hair on the ears may be any length desired. All three varieties will be judged at the same time. Dogs<br />

will compete first, followed by bitches, followed by Best in Stripped.To be judged after Sweepstakes and prior<br />

to the Regular Classes. Indicate Stripped in box marked “Additional Classes” on the regular entry form.<br />

AKC Junior Handler Numbers are now required for entry in Junior Showmanship Competition. Numbers may be<br />

26. Parade of Goodwill Ambassadors - Dogs eligible to be presented are 6 months or older, acquired from a<br />

local breeder/exhibitor (in conformation and/or obedience) who were not sold to show but are a good<br />

representative of the breed. The purpose of this class is to encourage and educate the public regarding the<br />

Cocker Spaniel as a breed and companion. Dogs participating in the Parade cannot be regularly entered in<br />

Conformation Classes in this show. Dogs may be present in the show area one hour before presentation which<br />

will immediately follow the judging of BEST OF BREED. A rosette with the dog’s name will be presented to each<br />

entrant. (A bio of no more that 50 words should be given to the Show Chairman at least one hour prior to the<br />

Parade). Fee is $10.00.<br />

98. Parade of Champions - Dogs eligible to be presented are Dog Show Champions that have been recorded<br />

by the AKC. Dogs participating in the Parade cannot be regularly entered in Conformation Classes in this show.<br />

Dogs may be present in the show area one hour before presentation which will immediately precede the judging<br />

of BEST OF BREED. A rosette with the dog’s name will be presented to each entrant. (A bio of no more than 50<br />

words should be given to the Show Chairman at least one hour prior to the Parade.) Fee is $10.00.<br />

ELIGIBILITY:<br />

The Sweepstakes shall be open to any Shetland Sheepdog eligible for competition in the regular AKC Classes<br />

whose age will be no less than six months and no greater than eighteen months on the day of the judging. The<br />

exceptions to this rule are as follows: NO DOG WHICH HAS COMPLETED THE REQUIREMENTS FOR A<br />

CHAMPIONSHIP PRIOR TO THE DATE OF JUDGING SHALL COMPETE IN THE JUDGING OF THE<br />

SWEEPSTAKES.<br />

INELIGIBLE DOGS:<br />

Should it be found than an ineligible dog has received an award in the Sweepstakes, the person to who such<br />

award was presented shall make restitution to the <strong>Club</strong> and such award shall be deemed to have been won by<br />

the dog judged second to the dog declared ineligible. The prize money and other awards shall then be<br />

redistributed to conform to the rules. All monies paid into Sweepstakes are non-refundable except for the<br />

following reasons. Over payment of entry fees, or failure of the club to present the Sweepstakes Classes.<br />

Entries received without fees will not be accepted. Acknowledgement of entries will be made as soon as<br />

practicable with tickets and/or identification cards. The person accompanying a dog must show tickets of<br />

admission and identification before the dog will be received. Should such acknowledgement not be<br />

accompanied by a cover sheet stating the number of pages, what shows and how many dogs per show. Visa/<br />

Mastercard number and expiration date, as well as the printed cardholder’s name and address must be<br />

included on cover sheet. Visa/Mastercard number, expiration date, cardholder’s name must appear on each<br />

entry. Fax entries must be received by the closing hour/date. Fax fee: $4.50 per entry in addition to entry fee.<br />

All credit card entries, regardless of method submitted, are processed through the Fax program and are<br />

charged the $4.50 processing fee. This Fax Fee is subject to change without notice.<br />

Make All Checks and Money Orders payable to MB-F, Inc. CANADIAN exhibitors must make fees payable in U.S.<br />

FUNDS. Please mail checks or money orders with entries. Superintendent assumes no responsibility for cash<br />

sent through the mail. Tabulate carefully. Due to cost of processing, no refunds $4.00 and under will be made.<br />

A Recording Fee of 50¢ will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member <strong>Club</strong> Show, Obedience<br />

Trial or Tracking Test. This Recording Fee is to be collected by the Show-giving <strong>Club</strong> and paid to the American<br />

Kennel <strong>Club</strong>. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the Recording Fee is to be collected on<br />

the first entry only. (American Kennel <strong>Club</strong> Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2).<br />

No Entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance.<br />

Entry Fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge,<br />

or barred from competition by action of the event's Show Committee. If because of riots, wars, strikes, civil<br />

disturbances, national emergencies, health emergencies, and the dictates of law enforcement or of the<br />

owner(s) of the grounds and/or facilities or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible<br />

to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made. Extreme weather conditions, such as,<br />

but not limited to snow storms, hurricanes, lightning, extreme heat, heavy rains, or other circumstances<br />

including, but not limited to, the condition of the facilities or grounds and/or the ingress and egress from the<br />

grounds, must be considered for the health and safety of the dogs, exhibitors and spectators. The well-being<br />

of dogs, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount importance and, in the event it is necessary to cancel or<br />

stop the show before completion, no refund of entry fee will be made.<br />

Post Dated Checks, Returned Checks and Declined Credit Cards do not constitute a valid entry fee. The<br />

Superintendent will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check or declined card. Subsequent<br />

returned checks or declined cards from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY<br />

basis.<br />

No Refund for Duplicate Entries. Every effort to find all duplicate entries will be made; however, if entry has been<br />

processed, no refund will be made.<br />

An Administrative Fee of $2.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to the closing of entries.<br />

Errors on Entry Blanks. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such<br />

errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published<br />

closing date.<br />

Dogs May Arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be<br />

excused.<br />

Judges Will Not Wait for Any Dog Holding Up a Class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence<br />

of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged.<br />

All Dogs Present must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the<br />

exercising ring.<br />

Class Cash Prizes will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog. Claims for prize money must be made in<br />

the ring before the judging of that breed is over, and the Superintendent’s Office advised at once. The<br />

Superintendents and show-giving <strong>Club</strong> disclaim any liability for cash prizes after the judging of the breed is<br />

over.<br />

No gasoline or diesel generators are permitted inside any building or within 100 feet of any tent in which this dog<br />

show is conducted.<br />

I (we) acknowledge that the "Rules Applying to Dog Shows/Registration and Discipline" and, if this entry is for an obedience trial,<br />

the "Obedience Regulations," have been made available to me (us), and that I am (we are) familiar with their contents. I (we) waive<br />

any and all claims, causes of action, I (we) might otherwise have against the AKC and any AKC approved judge, judging at this show,<br />

under AKC Rules, Regulations and Guidelines." I (we) agree that the club holding this show or obedience trial has the right to<br />

refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem to be sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the<br />

holding of the show or obedience trial and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prize money, ribbons, or trophies,<br />

I (we) agree to hold this club, its members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or show secretary and the owner<br />

or lessor of the premises and any employees of the aforementioned parties, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may<br />

be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or upon the show or<br />

obedience trial premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for<br />

any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss of this dog by<br />

disappearance, theft, death or otherwise, and from any claim for damage or injury to the dog, whether such loss, disappearance,<br />

theft, damage or injury, be caused or alleged to be caused by the negligence of the club or any of the parties aforementioned, or<br />

by the negligence of any other person, or any other cause or causes.<br />

I (we) hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify and save the aforementioned parties harmless from any<br />

and all loss and expense (including legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties for<br />

damage because of bodily injuries, including death at any time resulting therefrom, sustained by any person or persons, including<br />

myself (ourselves) or on account of damage to property, arising out of or in consequence of my (our) participation in this show or<br />

obedience trial, howsoever such injuries, death or damage to property may be caused, and whether or not the same may have been<br />

caused or may be alleged to have been caused by negligence of the aforementioned parties or any of their employees or agents, or<br />

any other person.<br />

INSTRUCTIONS<br />

1. (Variety) If you are entering a dog of a breed in which there are varieties for show purposes, please designate the particular<br />

variety you are entering i.e., Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, parti-color), Beagles (not exceeding 13 in., over<br />

13 in. but not exceeding 15 in.), Dachshunds (longhaired, smooth, wirehaired), Collies (rough, smooth), Bull Terriers<br />

(colored, white), Manchester Terriers (standard, toy), Chihuahuas (smooth coat, long coat), English Toy Spaniels (King<br />

Charles and Ruby, Blenheim and Prince Charles), Poodles (toy, miniature, standard).<br />

2. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition; Dogs that are Champions of<br />

Record and dogs which according to their owners records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but<br />

whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited<br />

to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship.<br />

3. (Dog Show Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the dog show class in which you are entering your dog<br />

is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering<br />

your dog, i.e., age division, color division, weight division.<br />

4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for a show closed. If a<br />

registered dog has been acquired by a new owner, it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any show for<br />

which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration<br />

certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name. State on entry form whether transfer application has been<br />

mailed to A.K.C. (For complete rule refer to Chapter 11, Section 3.)<br />
