The Lebo Light wishes to express our
sincere condolences to the families that
have lost a loved one recently.
Barbara Gail Rogers, 62, died Saturday,
October 25, 2014 in Halstead. She was born
March 18, 1952 in Emporia, Ks to Ralph and
Clara (Jones) Rogers. She graduated from Lebo
High School in 1970 and then graduated from
Colby Community College. Barbara worked as an
equipment operator with the State of Kansas
Highway Department and lived in Newton. She is
survived by her sister, Eunice Kuhlmann-Grieder
of Emporia; sister-in-law, Frances Rogers of
McPherson; two nieces and two nephews. She
was preceded in death by her parents and
her brother, Robert R. Rogers.
Twila D. (Stewart) Crook, 57, of Lebo, passed
away Sunday, November 2, 2014. She was born
July 23, 1957 at Kansas City, Missouri, the
daughter of Homer Clifford and Donna L.
(McDaniel) Stewart. She moved to the Lebo area
in 1968 with her family and graduated from Lebo
High School in 1975. She attended Emporia
State University and earned an associate
business degree in business in 1977. She
married Russell Johnson on October 22, 1977 in
Burlington and they were the parents of a
daughter, Robyn Lacey Hollinger of Lebo. Russell
passed away in 1978.
On May 7, 1985, Twila married Billy Gerald
Crook at Lebo. Billy passed away in 2002. She
was also preceded by her father, Cliff Stewart in
2013. Besides her daughter, she is survived by
her mother, Donna Stewart of Lebo; a sister,
Darla Frye and husband Danny of Lebo; and
three grandchildren.
Megan Rose Oswald, 27, passed away Friday,
November 14, 2014. She was born January 8,
1987 in Emporia, KS to Russell James Oswald II
and Leslie Ann Fowler. Survivors include twin
sons, Branden and Cayden Oswald; father Russ
Oswald, Lebo; her mother, Leslie Fowler, Wichita;
brothers Josh and wife, Heather Oswald, Lebo;
Kyle Oswald, Phoenix, AZ; niece, Kirsten Oswald
and nephew, Zach Oswald; paternal
grandparents, Ron and Rosemary Oswald,
Lyndon, KS; and maternal grandmother, Gayle
Fisher.
Glen Dale Fellers, 78, of
Burlington died Monday, November
10, 2014 at Coffey County Hospital.
He was born October 10, 1936 in
rural Lebo to Paul and Viola (Berndt)
Fellers. He graduated from Lebo
High School in 1954. He married
Ellen Marie Korbe on April 21, 1956
at Waverly. She died March 22,
1993. He married Peggy L. Franks
Ribeau May 6, 1994 in Burlington.
Glen was preceded in death by his
parents: a son, James Fellers in
1966; two sisters, Kay and Cheryl;
and a brothers, Harlan. Survivors
include his wife, Peggy, of the home;
two sons, Jerry Fellers and wife
Jennifer, Merriam, Ks. and Jeff
Fellers, Overland Park; three daughters,
Jo Fellers Emporia, Janice
Aucoin and Jeanne Bergstrom of
Lebo; a sister, Carol Archer and
husband Rex of Lousiana plus many
other relatives.
Susan Marie (Gould) Singleton, 58,
passed away Thursday, November
11, 2014 at the Kansas City Hospice
House. She was born December 3,
1956 in Emporia, Ks., the daughter
of Robert E and Gertrude M. (Osman)
Gould. Susan graduated Lebo High
School in 1974. She joined the U S
Navy in 1982 and later worked at
the Kansas City Veterans Hospital
and the Veterans Clinic in Paola.
Susan married Kenneth A.
Singleton October 30, 1986 in
Memphis, TN. She is survived by her
husband of the home in Olathe: her
daughters, Chelsea Marie Singleton,
Haley Annette Singleton, and
Dulcinea Roxanne Singleton all of
Olathe; her mother, Gertrude Gould
Thomas of Olathe; four brothers,
Rodney Gould of Hartford, Bob Gould
of Olathe, Vincent Gould and Roger
Gould of Lebo plus six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
father, Bob Gould in 1999 and her
step-father, Jim Thomas in 2014.
Janice Allen Memorial
A celebration of life service will be
held for Janice Lewis Allen Sunday,
December 7, 2014 at 1:30 pm at the
American Legion Hall.
Janice passed away July 13,
2014. A memorial has been
established with Hand in Hand
Hospice.
