Present employment<br />

Is currently employed as a lecturer at the Sahlgrenska academy at University of Gothenburg<br />

<strong>and</strong> as a clinical <strong>Speech</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Language</strong> Pathologist at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. The<br />

main interest in clinical work, teaching <strong>and</strong> research is speech disorders in patients born with<br />

cleft lip <strong>and</strong> palate or genetic syndromes, mainly 22q11 deletion syndrome. Have been a<br />

member of Gothenburg cleft palate team since 1991 <strong>and</strong> of the 22q11 deletion syndrome team<br />

since 1997.<br />

Teaching interests<br />

Lectures on structural speech disorders in children <strong>and</strong> adolescents, <strong>and</strong> have research<br />

seminars. Supervises master’s theses <strong>and</strong> a <strong>PhD</strong> student (Tove Johannisson).<br />

Research interests<br />

The research interest focus mainly on the project “Communicative participation in individuals<br />

with isolated cleft palate or 22q11 deletion syndrome: impact of speech <strong>and</strong> language<br />

impairment”. The aim of this project is to investigate speech, language <strong>and</strong> intelligibility in<br />

10-year old children <strong>and</strong> in adolescents/young adults (16-19 years of age) born with isolated<br />

cleft palate or 22q11 deletion syndrome. Another aim is to investigate the young adult’s<br />

experience of communicative participation in daily life. Another interest is in assessment<br />

methods of speech, including the influence of speech material on the prevalence of<br />

compensatory articulation <strong>and</strong> assessment of intelligibility in children.<br />
