2 2007 Accomplishments • 752 program participants went to work, and 126 advanced in their careers. • Auto, Bank and Construction Skills training graduates earned an average starting wage of $10.19 an hour. • Created a new skills training program, Bank Reconciliation, in partnership with US Bank, serving 25 people during the pilot year. • Introduced ReEntryWorks, a program for individuals recently released from prison so they can train for, find and keep jobs. • Nearly 1.1 million donations of clothing and household merchandise were received, totaling more than 66 million pounds of goods. • Gross revenues from retail operations grew to more than $25 million, 10.4 percent more than 2006 or a five percent increase in comparable store sales. • Piloted Smart Women Extend Goodwill, bringing 200 volunteers together to re-purpose donated sweaters into hats, mittens and scarves that were sold in retail outlets. • Volunteers contributed 102,000 hours to the organization or the equivalent of $2 million in wages. • Doubled the number of financial donors from 2006. • Introduced Power of Work Week in celebration of the power and dignity of work. • Launched a new Web site that better serves the needs of Goodwill/ Easter Seals and its stakeholders. • 82 cents of every dollar received went directly to building and strengthening programs and services.
