Registration is on a firstcome,first-served basis in the order that payment
is received. Payment is expected at the time of Registration. All registrations
will be confirmed. If you do not receive a confirmation within two
weeks of sending payment, please call 718.886.3800 ext. 229.
Cancellations & Refunds If registration for a session is closed due to full
enrollment, the Garden will refund your fee. If you must cancel after
registering, notify the Children’s Garden at ext. 229 at least five business
days before the start of the session, and the Garden will refund
your fee, minus a $10 registration fee. Refunds for cancellations less
than five days prior to the start of the session will be issued only if a
registrant from a waiting list will fill the space. No refunds or credits are
issued after a garden session begins.

The HSBC Children’s Garden at the
Queens Botanical Garden (QBG)
offers hands-on discovery for children
ages 5 - 12. The program encourages
fun and learning about plants,
gardens and nature—in a
beautiful environment.
SPRING
Each spring, children’s imaginations
and learning blossom as they:
• Plant vegetables and flowers
• Harvest lettuce, spinach and radishes
• Visit the bee garden and design a
fantasy garden space
• Make Mother’s Day cards with paper they’ve
made seeded with parsley and basil

SUMMER
When summer arrives, fun and learning
heat up, as children:
• Make salads from their spring vegetable plantings
• Bake cookies in a solar oven and learn about
climate and environment
• Raise and release butterflies;
• Plant healthy and delicious summer vegetables
• Conduct scavenger hunts, build planters
and terrariums and lots more!

Mondays & Wednesdays, 9 am – 4 pm

bring a box lunch
(refrigeration is available);
QBG provides a healthy
afternoon snack.
FALL
The leaves changing color doesn’t signal the end
of discovery at QBG. In the fall session, children
learn seasonal gardening, such as how to:
• Put a garden to sleep
• Plant garlic bulbs, and harvest tomatoes, peppers
and spinach—Yum!
• Make food from our crops, such as hummus
• Learn about the red tail hawk & other Garden animals.
September 5 – September 26
