From 7. to 21. May, 2011, the<br />
<strong>International</strong> <strong>Performance</strong> Art<br />
<strong>Festival</strong> will take place in <strong>Berlin</strong><br />
for the fifth time. The <strong>Festival</strong> is<br />
a unique art festival, with<br />
workshops<br />
, labs and performances, is<br />
among the most important<br />
platforms for performance art.<br />
Over 100 <strong>Berlin</strong> and<br />
international artists will<br />
present themselves in a<br />
performance marathon. During<br />
the kick-off on May 14 and 15,<br />
it will be possible to see what<br />
constitutes performance art:<br />
spontaneous creativity,<br />
confrontation, experiments, in<br />
short:<br />
artists in real-time.<br />
What takes place can then serve<br />
as inspiration for all interested<br />
individuals. <strong>Performance</strong> labs<br />
with the artists will give<br />
participants the opportunity to<br />
pursue their own creative<br />
impulses and to present the<br />
results to the public in the finale<br />
on May 20 and 21. All info<br />

B- lock offers the opportunity to<br />
take part in concentrated and<br />
intensive workshops in the fields<br />
of performance art, dance, and<br />
physical theater in connection<br />
with art and craft. We especially<br />
recommend the specific<br />
workshops of the american actor<br />
and director Philip Brehse: "<br />
Hungry for the not yet<br />
discovered gesture" The<br />

its usage in <strong>Performance</strong> Art and<br />
Dovrat ana Meron`s workshop<br />

Why hunger?<br />
Hunger is stimulus, greed,<br />
desire. Hunger makes people<br />
inventive. How is the hunger for<br />
movement, for expression<br />
transposed in the creative<br />
process? Is it necessary to<br />
cultivate hunger in a sated<br />
society? How will it influence us?<br />
