Remarks:<br />

a) Ichtyocolle, Laffort powder fish fining, Clarifiant VB and Polymust are considered as allergenic<br />

foodstuff by Canada because of the powder fish fining they contain. These products would not be<br />

subjected to labelling if the analysis made on the treated wine (filtered) would show that there does<br />

not remain proteinic fraction of fish responsible for the allergy.<br />

b) The aforementioned products are all clarifying agents used to flocculate in wine and are removed<br />

through racking and/or filtration.<br />

c) Some oenological products contain sulphur dioxide with doses higher than the 10 mg/kg limit for<br />

allergenic products. However, the doses of sulphur dioxide that are typically introduced in wine on<br />

usage of the product are significantly lowered due to product dilution when homogenised. These<br />

products are therefore not indicated in the aforementioned <strong>list</strong>.<br />

d) None of our oenological products that we produce contain, or are likely to contain (through<br />

contamination), allergenic substances as defined in Appendix III bis to Directive 2003/89 modified by<br />

the Directive CE 2006/142 and modifying the Directive CE 2007/68.<br />

e) In European Union, the mention of these products in the labelling of the wines will be concerned<br />

from June 30, 2012. However wines put on the market or labelled before December 31, 2010, which<br />

satisfies the requirements of the directive 2005/26/CE (drawing up a <strong>list</strong> of substance or ingredients<br />

temporarily excluded from the appendix III bis of Directive 2000/13 modified by the directive<br />

2007/68), can be marketed until exhaustion of stocks without this mention on the label.<br />

f) We declare that Laffort has procedures established for production and cleaning which are carefully<br />

followed. Laffort has a specific room and a packaging line just reserved for the packaging of powder<br />

allergenic products to avoid crossed contaminations with non allergenic products.<br />

The Quality department also audit our suppliers of raw materials to check they do not manipulate<br />

allergen products that could lead to a crossed contamination. Every year, Laffort is audited for the<br />

respect of the good manufacturing practices as it is described in the Codex Alimentarius (Cf. Certificate<br />

HACCP online).<br />
