At Anatom we work hard so we can play hard.
We love being in the mountains and for years we
have been passionate about outdoor footwear and
fitting.
In our quest to develop the best footwear we have
measured over 55,000 pairs of feet and from
these statistics identified the best shape for our
footwear.
We produce our footwear based on a narrow
heel and broad forefoot which we describe as a
“combination last”.
Our footwear is designed from the inside out and
then extensively tested in the harsh mountain
environment of Scotland to ensure it meets our fit,
comfort and performance standards.
Our mission remains to provide our customers
with what we describe as “interior comfort,
exterior performance”.

Waterproofness, breathability and durability –
the heart of our tri.aria micro-porous membrane.

When optimimim breathability and comfort in
warmer, more humid conditions is a key factor
then our ex.venttia mesh technology is an excellent

Softshell
Softshell is designed with aerobic activities in
mind. It’s technical properties perform best when
the wearer is moving more quickly and weather
conditions are more variable. Softshell’s trade
some measure of waterproof-ness or windproofness
for breathability and stretch, important
qualities for activities like; light and fast hiking, trail
running, biking and backpacking.
Anatom High Denier Substrate Upper
Our HDS material in our fabric boots is
engineered to provide incredible durability without
compromising breathability. Tested extensively, this
tightly woven material will endure the harshest of
mountain conditions.
Interface One lining
Our highly durable Interface One hydrophobic
lining allows internal moisture from the foot and
sock to pass through freely. The moisture can
then evaporate through the tri aria open-cell foam
and micro-porous membrane and ultimately the
external outer material.
Bio Form Frame
The Bio Form Frame is calibrated for each size
in every model providing the best performance
and fit. At the same time the Bio Form Frame
is designed to optimise the breathability of the
footwear while providing a flexible, supportive
structure.
tri.aria open-cell foam cushioning
The cushioning of the upper within our footwear
is critical to its interior comfort and performance.
Our tri.aria foam allows moisture vapour to pass
through its open-cell structure and through the tri.
aria waterproof/breathable membrane.
Calibrated midsole system
A calibrated midsole supports the foot during
its adaptive phases, ensures the footwear flexes
in the right place and provides the appropriate
underfoot protection. Excellent lateral and
torsional stability is providedby the high quality
nylon polymer material used.
Bioform Heel Cradle
Our Anatomic Heel Cradle is designed to be firm
and gives excellent support and stability to the
heel bone. The cradle’s anatomical bottle-neck
shape contours the profile of the rear of the foot
as well as the heel.
Bio Form Toe Protector
The Bio Form Toe Protector is a generous space
that provides excellent security for the toes. The
density of the materials is increased to allow
for improved comfort and protection without
unnecessarily stiffening the boot.
Anatom outsoles
Our outsoles provide tremendous grip in all
weather. Their durable compound ensures
extended life and extremely high friction on all
surfaces. They are designed to expel unwanted
stones very effectively on all terrains.

Calibrated Midsoles
The midsole is a crucial determining factor in the differentiation in performance of footwear designed for
use on ruged terrain. The three key areas are:
Underfoot Protection
This is an essential element of high quality hiking
footwear to prevent stones causing bruising and
unnecessary fatigue to the foot.
Torsional Rigidity
Our calibrated midsole supports the foot during
its adaptive phases, ensuring our footwear flexes
the right amount for stability whilst crossing
slopes or tricky terrain.

Forefoot Flex
Aswell as ensuring stability and security on uneven
ground and whilst crossing slopes our calibrated
midsole will also enhance efficiency and reduce
fatigue by allowing the right level of forefoot flex.
Each of these features needs to be calibrated to the
size of the foot so the smallest sizes in the same
way as the largest size.

The importance of fitting &
the Brannock Device
Anatom footwear is carefully engineered, designed and manufactured for maximum performance and
comfort. To bring out those qualities footwear must be properly fitted. No matter how well the footwear is
crafted; an improper fit will negate all other aspects.
Designed in 1927, The Brannock Device ® is a preferred choice for measuring feet. The Brannock Device’s
measuring accuracy, quality construction, and simple, yet completely functional, design is what has made
genuine Brannock measuring devices the best in the footwear industry. The Brannock foot-measuring device
allows Anatom dealers to accurately fit their customers, leading to greater customer satisfaction and
ultimately more sales.
By providing a starting point for fitting, the
Brannock Device eliminates guesswork and
incorporate the same three functional aspects,
heel-to-toe, arch-length and width measurements.
These three measurements are critical for
properly fitted footwear. With all three
measurements available to the sales person at
the same time an analysis of the foot can be made
without repositioning the device.

Ten Reasons for using Trekking Poles
Trekking poles are an essential tool for hiking and mountaineering. Here are ten reasons to
use trekking poles:
1. Better propulsion.
2. Reduction in impact on lower back, legs, knees, ankles, and feet. A 1999 study in The Journal of Sports
Medicine found that using poles can reduce compressive force on the knees by up to 25 percent.
3. Poles can be used to deflect minor obstacles such as thorny blackberries and spider webs.
4. Poles can help you establish and maintain a consistent rhythm.
5. The extra two points of contact significantly increase your traction on slippery surfaces like mud,
snow, and loose rock.
