THE SURPRISE
October 1, 1980
Today the Eifel Tower is dressed of black, all
Paris is dressed of black, the sun rise with an
enormous sadness, no one can believe this
tragedy, how people can do that? Is the question
of several people, and another ask what is the
mystery of the Eifel Tower?, the thing is that in
all the newspaper of Paris the main header says:
“TRAGEDY IN THE EIFEL TOWER”
Four Month Ago…
June 26, 1980
Marcela is a be
autiful girl who is 18 years old, recently she
finished the High School, she lives with his
father Jimmy,in California, he is a well known
layer, who widowed when Marcela was a child.
He always is working for give to her everythings
she needs, but Marcela feels lonely and she need
more love than money.
Jimmy: sorry, but I have to work so hard to give
you everything. I want to recompense you all of
these with a travel.
-A travel? Replied Marcela.
Jimmy: yes, you will travel to Paris, France.
Over there you will take a career in an expensive
university.
Marcela: but, I don’t want to leave California,
and I don’t want to be away from you Dad!
Jimmy: I’m sorry, but I can’t change my opinion.
You will be better away from me.
Marcela leaves the dining room and go run to her
room, she starts to cry, she feel destroyed and
disappointed with her father. She rise her view
and say: God, why to me? I just give you love.
After few minutes Marcela with tears in her ayes
return with her father and says: I’m going to
travel to France but you’ll regret!
June 28, 1980
Jimmy has some problems with bad persons and
they want to kill to him and his daughter.
The night after the graduation, while they are
taking a dinner, Jimmy says to Marcela:
-Marcela you know that I love you as anything in
my life, and today I have a surprise for you.
Marcela with his lips quiver say to him:
-I love you too, Dad, I kow you love me but you
never give me time and no love.
Marcela go course to the airport in a taxi and
thinks: “if my father doesn’t give love, I’ll get
love in France, maybe found a handsome boy
and get married”.

Marcela get up to the plane and found a
handsome boy next to her seat.
Marcela: excuse me, can I spent to my seat?
July 5, 1980
MARCELA MEET TO FRANK
- Yes, of course. He replied.
- are you feel ok? You look sad. Said the
handsome boy.
-yes, I’m ok, just I will miss my father.
Answered Marcela.
When they arrived in Paris, France, Marcela saw
that the handsome boy was calling and he look
mysterious. She decide to follow him but the one
moment to another he disappeared from her
view. So, she take a taxi and give to driver her
apartment’s address.
Marcela get down from the taxi and see an
elegant and enormous buildings, she feels
amazing for her new life. She just arrived and
her apartment, which one was shine, tiny and so
ordered, it look like to princess’s room, when she
decided start her search for love.
June 27, 1980
A man is walking from up and down, thinking
about how hurt to Jimmy. After a moments
remember the Jimmy’s daughter and his son. So,
then called to his son and says: you have to
travel to Paris, and find to someone.
The man’s son is a handsome boy, he is 26 years
old, but like to someone of 22 years old.
The days goes so fast and Marcela decided to go
to the university, get a taxi and arrived over
there.
The university is so big, there are a lot of
students it was like a city. The university has a
city just for students. Marcela was looking for
her schedule’s classes when suddenly see a
handsome boy coming toward her, she thinks
that maybe he can help her, but when was nearly
to her, she can’t believe what she is seeing, this
handsome boy was the same handsome boy of
the airplane.
- What do you do here? Marcela asks to him.
- I’m studying here. He replied.
Marcela: OMG! I can’t believe! Umm, the last
time you did give your name! I’m Marcela, nice
to meet you.
- Oh, I’m sorry, my name is Frank.

Marcela: I don’t know here, I’m thinking if you
can show me the university?
- It will be a pleasure for me. Replied Frank.
Since this day Marcela and Frank were friends.
Frank is trying Marcela get in love in him, he is
so romantic and retailer with Marcela. They
spent almost all the time together, go to the
university together and do everything together.
One night Marcela and frank are studying when
the Frank’s phone ring and was his father.
In this moment Frank changes her face, he like to
be afraid, with trembling hands take the phone
and answered.
-Did you remember when I met you in the plane,
and then we met in the university. That event
don’t were causality. I think it was the fate. Said
Frank and was in silent some seconds then he
continued:
- I’m in love in you, and I want to give you if
you want to be my girlfriend?
Marcela with tears in her face give and steep
nearer to Frank and said:
- You are the love of my life and the answer is…
And Frank kiss to her.
Marcela: Yes, I want to be your girlfriend.
After of this Marcela was intrigued about Frank
because she just had listened: “I doing my
work”. But Marcela did ask to Frank about it.
Marcela feels that she is in love of Frank and
thinks that she have found the love. This love
that she was looking for.
The next day Frank dated to Marcela in the
Eiffel Tower, he was prepared a romantic dinner
to Marcela, there were flower for everywhere,
champagne and a delicious food.
When Marcela arrived and saw this places, her
face get a big smile and some tears fall down
from her eyes.
Frank: please don’t cry, no today.
Marcela: don’t worried, this tears are of
happiness.
Franks: I prepared this, because I have
something some important to say you.
FRANK
August 30, 1980
A month after Frank and Marcela get a
relationship, Franks feels so happy because he is
really in love in Marcela, at the same time he
feels bad with himself, and is afraid because his
father Tommy never would allow this
relationship. If he had met to Marcela was thank
to his father and his mission.
Frank was thinking about that when the phone
rang, it was a call of his father:

Frank: hello!
-what happen with your mission? I need results
soon. Said Tommy with a lauder voice, he look
so angry.
Frank got angry and replied: I said you I’m
working on that, I don’t need that you be
remember me every day my mission. I know
when and how will complete it. And frank broke
the call.
Then he got his diary and start to write
something. He always write to escape of the
world. Then get the page end sent it to Marcela.
After he leaves her apartment and arrived in a
bar, there was drinking a lot of alcohol during all
the day, he received some call from Marcela but
he did not answer.
When come the nigh, Frank paid the account and
bought some more bottles of alcohol and leave
the bar.
He was walking in the street and was remember
the thinks that he had done by her father, his
father always has been a bad man, and he doesn’t
know nothing about her mother, Frank get sad,
angry, and depressive he did want to live more.
He feels that the life was a trash.
He followed walking until arrived to the Eifel
Tower, he decided climb it with a bottle of drink
in hand.
He was drunk on the Eifel Tower’s top, when he
walk until the shoreline of it and…

Frank, she doesn’t have an address, an relative’s
number, and call to him cell phone was inutile.
But then remembered that she has some photos
of him and her cell phone. So, she decide to
leave to the street to look for Frank.
Marcela is desperate looking for Frank, she had a
Frank’s photo in hand, and goes from up and
down to the large of the city, she thinks “how
can I find him in this enormous city”.
Marcela disappointed returned to her department.
When she opened the door saw an envelope in
the floor, she got it immediately and read: FOR
MARCELA.
She opened the envelope and found a letter from
Frank, Marcela start to read it and her faces
changes immediately, his lips were quiver and
start to cry, so then start to walk in her room
front up and down destroying all to her steep, she
was angry, she was furious, she was sad, her
world fall down in a moment, she leave her
apartment running without direction.
LOOKING FOR FRANK
Since that day Marcela changes, she leave the
university, she spent more time and parties
where began to consume drugs and alcohol, she
was loss, she did not have money, loss
communication with her father and in Paris she
did haven’t someone to help her..
August 31, 1980
Marcela is sad, because Frank don’t call her
since yesterday and he did not answer her calls,
she feels that need to know what happen with
him, but she doesn’t have any information about

September 17, 1980
Maybe for things of the fate, maybe for a
causality or for any reason one day while she
walks in the street, arrived to the Eifel tower.
And come until her mind the memory of Frank.
Marcela desperately begin to looking for Frank,
she had a Frank’s photo in hand, and goes from
up and down to the large of the city, she thinks
“how can I find him in this enormous city”.
Suddenly she found an old newspaper and read
the header: “YOUNG JUMPS FROM EIFFEL
TOWER” and also saw a Frank’s photo above
from the header.
In this moment Marcela’s heart broke, she start
to cry, start to run to the large of the city, she
want to arrive to the Eiffel Tower.
She stop a moments and see from up, over there
is the Eifel Tower.
Marcela get air and star to climb the tower with a
fast steep, she doesn’t stop to cry, she doesn’t
stop to climb. When she is on the top desperately
scream: God, why did you forget to me?...
…she jumps from the Tower.
THE LETTER
August 31, 1980
When Marcela opened the door saw an envelope
in the floor, she got it immediately and read:
FOR MARCELA.
She opened the envelope and found a letter from
Frank, Marcela start to read:
She spent all the night crying and remembering
her life, she wanted to be with her mother, she
wanted to be with Frank, and decided to walk
toward to the shoreline and…
-Dear Marcela.
Today I’m writing to you because there are some
things that you have to know, it are so important
and maybe after reed it, you don’t will want to

know something else about me, but my
conscience will be in peace.
After some years my father was friend of your
father, they knew a beautiful woman, that
woman was your mother. My father was fall in
love in her, and your father knew it. So they start
a fight for get her love and my father won, but
your father forced to your mother to get married
with him. My father says that your father is a bad
man.
I just give you that you could forgive me one
day.
Good bye, until never and God bless you.

After your mom died, my father swore get
revenge, he is sure that Jimmy kill your mother.
I always has been near to you, we studied at the
same school but in different classroom, in the
high school you start to like but I had a mission,
my mission was kill or destroy you, so when my
father noticed that you would travel to here, he
sent me. Found me in the airplane and then in the
university doesn’t was a coincidence, my plan
was that you fall in love in me, get married, and
stole your father’s fortune.
But with the time I felt in love in you, and I can’t
continue with my plan, because I love you and I
need you, but I can’t be to side, I’m a bad man
for you, furthermore my father never will accept
our relationship.
Also your father sent you here because my father
threatened to him with kill you, and he knew that
he would send you to here.
Today I received a call from my father asking
about my mission and today decided to stop this
and go on with my life away from him and away
from you.

…But she could not, by having taken much her
produced dizziness and was fainted.
In the morning she returned to home and
continued drinking by a lot of days.
of despair, but in turn was a hope that she got
from comfort to believe that it was Frank that
has been called and that he was not dead and that
the appointment would be with him.
A HOPE
At night she leaved without direction, she
remembered the face of the one in whom he had
found love, who experiment with the sweetness
of true love, but at the same time the thoughts of
anger choked against those who had destroyed
her life.
she wears the most beautiful dress that she had,
the same that was wearing the night that Frank
proposed that be her girlfriend. his lips of
intense red color,looked more beautiful than
ever,her collected hair and the beautiful pearl
necklace that her mother left her before dying.
October 28, 1980
The days passed and Marcela was a drug addict
rampant, her life was a complete disaster, but
this morning her life totally change. She received
a call:
- I need that we meet and speak!
-I have not anything that say
- Believe me that you are interested in knowing
about what happened to Frank.
.Frank? Who is it ?
-tonight, at 10:30pm in ¨the place of memories¨
-who is it? Hello? Hello?
There was no response to Marcela and wait for
the time of the appointment became eternal years

WHO ARE YOU?
She got to the Eiffel tower ( the place where she
kept the best memories of your life)" when she
went up for the last five remaining scales
Began to see a man of back dressed in white suit
that he had been watching from the top of the
tower, she hastened her step to reach the young
man and suddenly turns around and is in the light
its true identity.
-Who are you?
-You are identical to your mother!
-My mother, how do you know her?
-Was so beautiful that everybody dying by stay
whit her.
.I do not, what do you are saying?
-Your mother was in love me but your father
bought her whit money.
-You are Frank´s father, where was his, tell me
right now!
-You´ll never see his!
-Why you forced his to do something that he did
not want to do?
-He did not do anything, and who don’t do my
orders have to pay very expensive.
-What?
Whit her eyes closed and voice loud.
-You are You're a bastard and unhappy
Frank's father took her very strong and replied :
-Your father is the bastard and you will pay by
his mistake.
Dropping her , he asked again.
-What know what happened whit Frank?
I hate the day in that he knew her.
I hate his!
-Quiet!
She hit his and starts to cry .
Well, The night that Frank write the letter
placed it in the envelope ready to send it, but the
binge drinking would not let him and I found his
asleep.
I read his letter and I knew that everything would
be lost, so decide change it to another that I

myself wrote, and I could use it to destroy you
bit by bit, He wanted to flee with you, but I also
fool he.
I answered to letter instead you! And I say that
we meet here .
He smiled and continued:
-when you didn´t arrive he thought to found you
but I arrived . He refused to go with the plan,
Marcela could not say anything only cry and cry,
and the man Said again no one can be against my
plan.
Suddenly he pointed out with a gang to Marcela
and said:
-Have arrived your hour to …
Marcela interrupted.
-I could give a taste to see me die by your hand,
but I do it by sitting next to the first and foremost
that showed me what the true love was.
These were last words as it came to the view of
the tower and jump with your arms extended at
command prompt deliver her soul in sacrifice for
the love she felt part of Frank
So I'm not had no choice but fling his from the
tower, I supposed that you read the news!
WHY?
-Why did you do?
-Because no one can to destroyed mi plan.
-But was your son!
-This are the least importan.

-There's nothing you can do
At that moment a cry is heard terror-stricken that
filled the entire aisle but Marcela could not listen
to them. And repeated consecutively

Those were the cries of Frank trying to prevent
Marcela jump but it was too late. Without
spending much time Frank knew he would never
again see that blonde girl, thick lips that
accompanied him every day, who dreamed to
marry someday.
At that moment the police surrounding the
Tower completely, not finding more people than
two young men killed in the cold and desolate
street of Paris and even man overwhelmed and
disappointed of its sad fate who was at the scene
intervened, who was arrested.
THE MOMENT OF THRUTH
November 12, 1980
Judge- Start the session.
You swear to tell the truth and nothing but the
truth?
The man-Yes I swear.
Judge-Sit down
Without think any more in term of seconds,
without say more jumped next to Marcela.
Like Frank his father wanted stopped his but was
very later. The same feeling run into his heart
that was destroyed by his hatred.

guarded by my men in my house.

Judge- So, Having heard and analyzed the case,
he asked the accused as stated to the court?
- I plead guilty.
TOP, TOP
Was the last sound that Frank´s father heard
while a judge seventy years in prison dictated.
It was then that it occurred to me to believe that
my son had jumped from the tower, but who in
reality had fell from the tower was his friend ...
because I pull him.
Then page for that in the news instead of his
name appeared on name of my son with his
portrait, the portrait of Frank…
Judge- Rises the session
THE END
While trying to get rid of Marcela, Frank ran out
of the house and in the first place in which he
thought was the place of the memories ... when
Marcela leap Frank tried to arrest her but it was
too late ...
