Nursery Christmas Party.
Christmas looms and with it
there are plenty of festivities
afloat at Darfield Preschool &
Nursery. Children are enjoying
indulging in the Christmas spirit
with carol singing, Christmas
stories and a huge range of
sparkly creative activities.
Families and children are also
being invited to contribute to a
‘Giving Tree’ to help those less
fortunate and to develop a
culture of giving.

Darfield Preschool’s 25th
anniversary so it’s no wonder
they’re celebrating!

atmosphere of the current
preschool community. There
was a strong sense of
camaraderie with families,
children and staff all mingling in
a buzzing, party atmosphere.

year when all participants of our
preschool whanau get together
to share, strengthen friendships
and celebrate our wonderful
children and their families,” said

Toy Library reopens

Kirwee Rugby Clubrooms

Santa at 11am with morning tea in between.
Bring a small wrapped present for your
child if you wish.
The Toy Library will run an hour longer till 12:30
to allow Kirwee members to attend both sessions.
Zita Bezuidenhout and Lisa
Bowater of Rolleston are the
co-ordinators of a new support
group for people experiencing
breast cancer in the Selwyn
area.
Zita, married with two daughters
and three grandchildren, was
diagnosed with breast cancer in
May 2012. Since her diagnosis,
she has met a number of
women in the area who've also
experienced breast cancer and
felt she could offer some
support to others by starting
this group.
Lisa, also married with two
children, lost her mother to
breast cancer seventeen
months ago and has other
family members also suffering
from the disease.
Beginning in January 2015, the
group will meet on the last
Thursday of each month. These
meetings will provide an
opportunity for women and
men, who have had a recent, or
past, diagnosis of breast cancer
