compresses the data by a ratio of 2:1, keeping the<br />
size of both the <strong>Domino</strong> server and the<br />
<strong>EmailXtender</strong> archival database small, while<br />
ensuring the integrity of the archive. The result –<br />
less data to back up overall, less tape usage, and<br />
less offsite storage usage.<br />
Reduces Email Recovery Times<br />
Today’s email administrators increasingly spend<br />
much of their time retrieving lost or deleted email<br />
<strong>for</strong> users. <strong>EmailXtender</strong>’s full-text indexing and<br />
powerful search capabilities allow administrators<br />
to find lost email in minutes rather than pulling<br />
backup tapes and searching <strong>for</strong> hours. They can<br />
search <strong>for</strong> email and attachments using field, date<br />
range, full-text, Boolean, natural language, and<br />
other criteria. <strong>EmailXtender</strong>’s search tools are<br />
available to administrators, <strong>Lotus</strong> <strong>Notes</strong> users via a<br />
plug-in on their <strong>Notes</strong> client, or via web browser.<br />
Multi-mailbox search <strong>for</strong> administrators and other<br />
authorized personnel is also included.<br />

Indexing<br />
<strong>EmailXtender</strong> per<strong>for</strong>ms full-text indexing of subject<br />
line, message body, and attachments. In addition,<br />
the indexing technology is extremely efficient –<br />
producing index data that is 10% the size of the<br />
message and attachments.<br />
Enables Regulatory Compliance<br />
<strong>EmailXtender</strong> enables compliance with SEC 17a-4,<br />
HIPAA, 21 CFR Part II, DOD 5015.2-STD, and other<br />
regulations regarding email retention. Indexing and<br />
search tools make data easily accessible.<br />
Compression and single-instance message capture<br />
allows <strong>for</strong> retention without high storage costs.<br />
<strong>EmailXtender</strong> also provides the ability to store data<br />
on non-rewriteable, non-erasable storage media.<br />
