refined precursor products and intermediates for the

Chemical catalysts
In Industriepark Wolfgang, activated metallic and
precious metal supported catalysts are produced and
recycled. In this process used precious metals are also
recycled.
Feed additives
In Industriepark Wolfgang, all essential amino acids
important for animal nutrition are developed and optimized
for the production of mixed feeds.
Specialty acrylates
Functional polymers on methyl acrylate basis, which
are used, for example, in tablet coatings, in lubricants, or
in binders and paints, are developed and produced here.

Innovative concept of project houses and start-ups
As a leading specialty chemicals company,
Degussa has created interdisciplinary research
structures that are custom-tailored to future
target markets and customer requirements. The
project houses pool the know-how of multiple
business units in order to develop new technology
platforms for the company. Here, teams of
20–30 scientists from different business areas
work closely with partners from universities
and industry for periods limited to three years.
The results of these projects are then commercialized
in the business units or within the framework

the basis of fermentation technologies.
Here, know-how is pooled from the areas
of specialty polymers, nanomaterials, and surface
modification. Studies deal with hybrid polymers,

techniques and film technologies.

In intimate cooperation with customers,
this start-up develops and markets nanoscale
powders and dispersions, such as AdNano®
zinc oxide, AdNano® indium tin oxide,
AdNano® cerium oxide, or AdNano® magnesium
silicates for applications in the areas of
cosmetics, electronics, catalysis, and coatings.
This start-up identifies and markets
ligands as well as metal complex catalysts
for optimization of chemical-pharmaceutical
processes. At the same time services are offered
for fast screening and testing of catalysts
using a proprietary catalyst library.
esscom – meeting place for eating
and communication
In the center of Industriepark Wolfgang lies "esscom”.It is the
incarnation of a modern concept that combines innovative commercial
