BREATHING APPRATUS INTRODUCTORY<br />

Designed for industrial needs, the BA wearers’ course is not physically arduous and is suitable for all<br />

wearer types.<br />

Who should attend<br />

Anyone required to wear breathing apparatus in particular fire team or emergency response team<br />

members.<br />

On completion of this programme participants will be able to:<br />

• List the regulations applicable to the use of BA<br />

• Construct BA<br />

• List BA Procedures<br />

• Service and maintain BA equipment<br />

• BA - Set Description<br />

• BA – Ancillary Equipment<br />

• Pre Use/Donning/Doffing Procedures<br />

• Elementary Physiology of Respiration<br />

• BA – Control Procedures if required<br />

• Practical Exercises Wearing <strong>Breathing</strong> <strong>Apparatus</strong><br />

• Cleaning and Servicing of Sets<br />

• Post Test<br />

• Course Review and Close<br />

Pre-Course Requirements: NB<br />

• Persons nominated for this course must be medically fit.<br />

• Organisations must provide their own BA equipment.(certified)<br />

• <strong>Anderco</strong> may be able to supply equipment at an additional charge.<br />

Methods of Training<br />

The theoretical input on this course is presented in an interactive<br />

manner using discussion and group feedback. Practical exercises<br />

throughout the course reinforce the training.<br />

Assessment/Certification: Certificate of Completion/ Attendance.<br />

English is the language in which training is delivered and participants must have a good command of<br />

the English language. If participants wish to bring an interpreter they may do so but prior notice must<br />

be given to <strong>Anderco</strong>.<br />

Please let us know if participants have any specific learner requirements.<br />

Please Note: Mileage @ €0.50 per km and accommodation @ €100 per night is may be charged for<br />

courses.<br />
