St. Stephen's Students Hear Young
Musicians from Ransom Everglades
Recently, students in Grades 4 and 5 had the opportunity
to hear the Ransom Everglades Middle School jazz band
during a morning assembly. For three years, Danny
Equizabal, SK-Grade 5 music teacher, has hoped to
bring a group of young performers to St. Stephen's.
"I design my music program to transition them to
middle school where they will have the opportunity to
continue their music education. Seeing such talented
young musicians helps our students understand their
own potential in a music program." said Mr. E.
Miss Robbin jumped in on the action and had her Pre-
Kindergarten and Junior Kindergarten students attend
as well. The St. Stephen's students clearly enjoyed the
show.
The Ransom Everglades band director, Cathi Leibinger,
introduced and described each instrument in the band
prior to the performance. While most of the music may
not have been recognized by our students, there were a
few songs including Journey's Don't Stop Believin' and
the Village People's YMCA, that got the crowd going.
Fifth graders who will be attending Ransom in the fall
were invited up to dance during YMCA.
Palmer Trinity's Middle School String Ensemble is
hoping to visit in May to perform for students. Two
St. Stephen's alumni, Imran Panjabi '10 and Lindsey
Scholer '11, are members of the group and are excited
to return to St. Stephen's to perform.
