the committee have published an outstanding online<br />

newsletter which has been distributed to <strong>CSHA</strong><br />

members via two email blasts. The newsletter can be<br />

accessed via the following link http://old.csha.org/<br />

diversity.cfm . The 100-Word Glossary Project is only<br />

one of the projects currently in progress. The goal is<br />

“ to provide basic vocabulary in multiple languages<br />

to communicate vital concepts regarding health and<br />

communicative disorder issues”. Four languages are<br />

currently in the data base and three others are being<br />

discussed. The Glossary is expected to be available on<br />

the Diversity Issues Committee Website by the end of<br />

2013.<br />

Early Intervention Task Force – Nancy Robinson,<br />

Chair, states the purpose “is to define the issues of<br />

service delivery in EI…and to develop a position paper<br />

that will serve as guidelines”.<br />

Literacy Task Force - The Role of the School-<br />

Based SLP – Holly Kaiser, Chair, reports the plan is<br />

to create a “user-friendly, application oriented position<br />

paper … in support of the foundational language<br />

intervention needed for reading and writing”.<br />

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this Task<br />

Force be disbanded and these concerns be addressed<br />

through the Commission on Professional Services in LP<br />

The motion passed by unanimous voice vote.<br />

– Other issues brought up by Rosemary Scott,<br />

Secretary of the <strong>Board</strong>, were updating the Speech-<br />

Language Pathology and Hearing Aid Dispensers<br />

<strong>Board</strong> (SLPAHADB) language regarding 100 hours<br />

of supervised practicum and supervision requirements.<br />

Bill Barnaby, Jr. Legislative Advocate, said that he<br />

will ask Annemarie DelMugnaio, Executive Director<br />

of the state licensing board. Rosemary also asked about<br />

uniformity of protocol regarding confidentiality among<br />

university programs for students to observe/volunteer.<br />

Steve Paulson, director-elect District 6, said that he did<br />

not know of any uniform policy.<br />

Workload-Caseload Task Force – Christina<br />

LeRoy, Chair is in the process of organizing the<br />

committee.<br />

DRDP – The <strong>CSHA</strong> <strong>Board</strong> voted to disband the<br />

task force previously created. This commission will<br />

research and monitor this issue.<br />

ABSTRACT: At the March 2013 <strong>CSHA</strong> <strong>Board</strong> Meeting,<br />

the <strong>CSHA</strong> <strong>Board</strong> approved the formation of a Task Force<br />

to address SLP concerns regarding administration/<br />

completion of the DRDP by SLPs for preschool-aged<br />

children receiving speech/language services but not<br />

enrolled in a special education preschool setting.<br />

<strong>CSHA</strong> is offering many CE district workshops this<br />

coming year. Please view our Calendar of Events off the<br />

<strong>CSHA</strong> website at: http://www.csha.org/workshops<br />

As the fall season approaches, we will be adding<br />

more and more workshops throughout the year. All<br />

workshops will offer CEUs.<br />

Here are just a few of what <strong>CSHA</strong> will be offering<br />

this coming year. Continue to check the website for date<br />

and topic information as workshop dates approach.<br />
