Elmer ('harless HenderhOn, whGm the Brothers-in-the-Bond<br />

deliííht to honor, is a native of Fulton, .\[o., which has been his home<br />

for the wliole of his lile. He is a descendant of early, sturdy pioneers<br />

from Virginia and Kcntucky. He is a great-great-grandson of the<br />

celebrated Daniel Boone.<br />

Brotlier Henderson was born January 30, 187.. He has one<br />

brother, W H. Henderson, also a <strong>Phi</strong>. He was educated in the<br />

pnblic srhools of Fulton and at Westminster College. He has ahvays<br />

been and continúes to l¡e a general fa\'orite among the people of his<br />

home community. He was a member of the class of 18'*3. but owiiig<br />

to the fact that an attractive business opportunity presented itself at<br />

the cióse of his júnior year, he gave up his college career and devoted<br />

his talents to business. He was for several years a traveling salesman,<br />

at the end of which he engaged in business in b'ulton, where he has<br />

exlensive and varied interests. On .\pril 9, 1903, he was married to<br />

Miss .\nne Eugenia Brown, of Fulton. They have two children,<br />

.\nne, aged eleven, and Elmer C. Júnior, aged nine.<br />

Brother Henderson's fraternit\- history began with his initiation into<br />

the Missouri Beta chapter at Westminster College. September 1.^.<br />

1890. He has always been keenly interested in fraternity affairs, both<br />

local and general. He represented his chapter at the Indianapolis<br />

convention of 1894. He was for six vears Chapter House Commissioner,<br />

foUowing which he was Historian of the General Council for<br />

five years, or until his election as President of the Ceneral Council,<br />

fanuary 2, <strong>1918</strong>. at the Indianapolis convention. He assisted at the<br />

installation of the foUowing chapters oí
