We take pleasure in presenting in this issue the latest photographs,<br />

accompanied by biographical sketches of the two new officers in the<br />

General Council, elected at the Indianapolis convention a year ago,<br />

also that of the new president, elected at the same<br />

appeared long ago and would have except for the<br />

very unsettled conditions caused by war times, so we take this opportunity<br />

of apologizing to all concerned for the delay. Nevertheless,<br />

we believe the Fraternity will be glad to renew their acquaintance with<br />

the new president, Brother Henderson, and with the two new members<br />

of the General Council, Brothers Kierulíí and Meisenhelder. All<br />

three of these men have long been active in fraternity aííairs and we<br />

feel sure that their service on the present General Council will be<br />

exceedingly valuable and result in the strongest possible promotion of<br />

the interests of the Fraternity.<br />

Perhaps some of our readers may not have seen the first article that<br />

was printed in the September <strong>1918</strong> number of TJie Palladium and for<br />

that reason we take the liberty of repeating here what was said there<br />

concerning the infrequencv of late issues of both<br />

• our magazines. In short, that article stated that<br />

on account of the uncertainty of chapter organization caused by so<br />

many of our active men entering war service and the increased cost of<br />

publication, no magazines at all were published foUowing THE SCROLIof<br />

May, <strong>1918</strong>, until this issue. Last year combinations of two issues<br />

of each magazine were made. We find it necessary to do the same<br />

thing again this year so that this issue will be known as a combined<br />

October and December issue, being numbers 1 and 2 of <strong>Volume</strong> XLIII.<br />

Our present plan is to issue the February numl)er about March and
