Project Engineer: Nucor Building Systems Group, Swansea, SC, 2010
Responsible for the analysis and design of simple to complex pre-engineered steel
buildings.
Provided departmental improvement strategies to increase levels of quality for
engineering design and fabrication procedures.
Assisted in estimates of complex structural systems as well as research and
development assignments.
Project Engineer: Computerized Structural Design, S.C., Milwaukee, WI, 2005-
2009
Responsible for the analysis and design of steel non-building type structures, 3D
analysis and design of complex structural frameworks and finite element analysis on
shell type structures.
Company representative auditing for the American Institute of Steel Construction
(AISC) in the Metal Building Quality Certification Program (QCP). Conducted
onsite evaluations regarding creation, implementation and quality assurance control
of design practices, order procedures, material tracking, administrative policies,
personnel qualifications and fabrication procedures for pre-engineered metal
buildings. Verified implementation of quality control and quality assurance
procedures.
Conducted failure investigations of pre-engineered metal buildings by performing
onsite inspections, reverse engineering analysis and technical review of documents.
Designed repairs of damaged structures, performed standards and code compliance
analysis to categorize the causes of accidents and failures, and if pertinent, identify
the responsible party.
Acted as project manager overseeing team of engineers on large scale assignments.
