(A) From 01.01.1971 to 17.01-1980 - Last position – Assistant Foreman (Technical)<br />

Held various positions in Ordnance Factories. Last post held was Assistant Foreman (Technical) at<br />

Heavy Vehicles Factory, Avadi, Chennai. Duties performed were of supervision of mass production<br />

activities of various components of battle field tank and quality control.<br />

(B) From 18.01.1980 to 20-11-1987 Deputy Director (Metallurgy) in the office of Development<br />

Commissioner (Small Scale Industries), Nirman Bhavan, New Delhi - 110011.<br />

Served at Regional Testing Centre, Chennai, SISI Okhala and DC(SSI) Ministry of Industry, Head<br />

Quarters New Delhi. Duties performed pertained to promote metallurgical industries under ssi<br />

sector, assist the entrepreneurs to prepare DPR, bankable Techno-Economic Feasibility Reports and<br />

eventually help them to set up small scale industries.<br />

(C) From 21.11.1987 to 14.03.1994 : Senior Research Officer, Planning Commission, New Delhi -<br />

Duties performed were socioeconomic research related to national planning for industrial<br />

development, help formulate industrial policy, prepare demand and supply scenarios, analysis of<br />

capacity creation and investment needed for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, minerals, prepare<br />

econometric models for forecasting of demand for minerals and metals as well as modernization,<br />

technologies needed, capacity expansion by existing companies for production, export, import of<br />

different metals of industrial importance, preparation of econometric models, analysis of importexports<br />

trend, prepare estimates for investment to meet capacity creation targets, projection of<br />

need of investment from public and private sector in different sector, resources allocation for SME<br />

and large scale industries, etc.<br />

(D) From 15.03.1994 to 07.02.1996 : Deputy Adviser (Non-Ferrous Minerals), Planning Commission,<br />

New Delhi - 110001.<br />

Duties involved preparation of Five Year Plan and Annual Plan for development of non-ferrous<br />

mineral industries in the countries. Approval of budgetary resources and investment plan of<br />

different PSUs like Hindustan Copper Ltd. BALCO, HZL, etc.<br />

(E) From 08.02.1996 to 09.04.2003 : Deputy Adviser (Steel) Planning Commission, New Delhi.<br />

Duties performed were Prepare national plan and annual plan for development steel sector.<br />

Approve investment plan of PSUs like SAIL, NMDC, MOIL, RINL, HSCL, BRL, etc. Manage government<br />

equity and loan in the PSUs, approval of capital and business restructuring.<br />

(F) From 10.04.2003 to 02-04-2008 : Joint Adviser (Minerals), Planning Commission, New Delhi –<br />

110001<br />

Duties performed included preparation of Five Year and Annual Plan for development of Indian<br />

Minerals industries, formulate mineral policy, and assess investment needs, divestment of<br />

government equity.<br />

(G) From 03.04.2008 to 31.05.2010 : Adviser (Transport), Planning Commission, New Delhi – 110001<br />

Duties performed relates to preparation of transport planning, transport geography, development<br />

of transport infrastructure, removal of constraints in logistics, supply chain management, value<br />

chain management. Planning & development of major ports, international shipping, PPP in port<br />

projects, development of inland waterways, coastal shipping, etc.<br />
