commercial artist in Philadelphia<br />
until the early 1980’s when<br />
Vann became interested in<br />
the role of African Americans<br />
in opening and settling the<br />
American West. He moved from<br />
commercial to studio art and<br />
began to concentrate on what<br />
he calls “The Black Experience.”<br />

tell and play the captivating story of<br />
the piano, from its invention over three<br />
centuries ago until today. To illustrate the<br />
progressive development he will perform<br />
spellbinding short pieces by Scarlatti,<br />
Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt,<br />
Grieg, Debussy and other outstanding<br />
classical composers. The free tickets<br />
