The products, the system
With its product series of gesis LON R,
Wieland offers devices for use in LON
networks. These modular devices are
mounted in gesis RAN distribution
boxes and are therefore suited for
remote installation.
The system
LONWorks (Local Operating Network)
is a network for automation in buildings
that can be used universally and in
remote locations. Intelligent sensors,
actuators and operating devices can be
interconnected flexibly via one or
several transmission media such as
Twisted Pair (TP), 230 V power circuit
or radio technology. Communication
takes place from any point to any other
point. Modifications, extensions and
maintenance are possible any time,
including during operation.
Due to the topology, both minor and
major automation tasks can be fulfilled
quickly and cost effectively.
Topology
New installations profit from data
transmission via two-wire cables. LON
networks are not restricted to any
defined topology. You can freely choose
among star, ring, tree or classic line
topologies. The entire system is
subdivided into lines that are coupled
through routers. The lines can be
operated over a distance of 2 km
without additional preparation of the
LON bus signals. On top of that, the
network structure can be extended
through repeaters, routers or gateways
to reach unlimited distances.
Our system partners
In cooperation with our system
partners we are able to deliver
complete systems. These consist of
power supply, operating and monitoring
devices and interface modules for
TCP/IP or other systems. You therefore
have only one contact for your system
– regardless of whether you require
pre-assembled round cables, flat cable
systems, remotely installed switching
devices or system components.
The remote installation of modular
built-in devices
Adhering to our motto “Everything is
pluggable”, we are ready to assemble
all modular built-in devices into gesis
distribution boxes.
The gesis distribution boxes are
customized according to your
individual requirements. First of all,
the functionality of electronics is
selected, then the type and quantity
of connectors is determined and finally
the inputs and outputs are clearly
identified by marking tags. Wieland
manufactures these distribution
boxes as fully assembled unit. The
housings are manufactured; the
specified electronics and connectors
are integrated; the boxes are wired
and the finished distribution box is
completely tested.
The pre-assembled units are then
quickly installed on site , without wiring
errors.
