FAIR TASTE CAFÉ NOW OPEN AT SCHIPHOL
AMSTERDAM — Fair Taste Café has joined HMSHost Corporation’s roster of restaurants at Amsterdam
Airport Schiphol. With Fair Taste Café, HMSHost continues to demonstrate its leadership in offering inspiring
and innovative airport restaurants.
“As Europe's preferred airport, it is our ambition to always be a step ahead of the competition and we have
prioritised sustainability. Today, passengers want to enjoy responsibly and are choosing sustainable and fair
trade products more often. The arrival of the unique Fair Taste Café caters to these needs, making this outlet
concept a fantastic addition to our catering services,” says Otto Ambagtsheer, Business Area Consumers
Director at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
At Fair Taste Café, as the name suggests, guests enjoy
coffee bearing the Max Havelaar Fairtrade hallmark, as well
as delicious sandwiches made with organic and ethicallyproduced
ingredients. Top Chef Ramon Beuk conducted the
opening ceremonies for Fair Taste Café earlier this month.
HMSHost ensured sustainable materials were used in the
store’s design. Wherever possible, recycled and repurposed
materials were incorporated. The walls are made from
reclaimed wood, pallets and tiles. Counter surfaces and tile
are made from ground waste rock.
“During the development of Fair Taste Café, we recognized
the importance of creating a sustainable range of products
and we are pleased to offer such a diverse selection to
Schiphol’s travellers,” said Dawn Wilding, Vice President of
HMSHost Europe and Middle East. “The vast majority of
products available from Fair Taste Café satisfy at least one of
the following qualities and hallmarks: Fair Trade, Organic,
Local, Recyclable or Rainforest Alliance Certified.”
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol welcomed more than 45 million visitors last year, making it one of Europe's mosttraveled
/ visited air transport hubs. HMSHost operates over 70 restaurants and catering points at Schiphol,
including the Dutch Kitchen & Bar, Café Chocolat and Bubbles Seafood & Wine Bar.
