Preface
This thesis was prepared at Informatics Mathematical Modelling, the Technical
University of Denmark in partial fulfillment of the requirements for acquiring
the bachelor’s degree in engineering. The project was started in February and
consists of 15 ECTS points. The thesis deals with the security of Rejsekortet, a
new Danish/Swedish travel card standard. The focus has been to find a vector
for a cryptographic weakness in Rejsekortet per RKF standards A, B and C,
with the aid of once-available standards documentation. Currently the system
runs in a later version to which the specifications are not available.
An obstacle in the project has been the unavailability of current documentation
of the RKF specification. It has made it more difficult to get a precise
understanding of the data recovered with card dumps.
Finally it is certified that this thesis is written by myself in full to the best of
my ability, and with citation clearly sourced where due.
