Subject: Health Records Week Activities<br />
This serves to inform you all that the week of activities is fast approaching. As you were<br />
all informed, the Association will be celebrating its 40 th Anniversary. The week begins<br />
on October 16 – 22, 2011 with the theme being “Health Information Management<br />
Workforce: Changes and Opportunities”.<br />
This year the South East Regional Health Records Group will be hosting the following<br />
activities:<br />
• Sunday, October 16, 2011 - Church Service – Coke Methodist Church, East<br />
Parade (Downtown Kingston) – 9:30 a.m.<br />
(uniform should be worn)<br />
• Monday, October 17, 2011 - PUBLIC HOLIDAY<br />
• Tuesday, October 18, 2011 - Proposed visit to Records Archive, Kingston<br />

Secretary/Treasurer – Marjorie Hendricks; Assistant Secretary/Treasurer – Yvonne Gayle;<br />

• Thursday, October 20, 2011 - Open Day, Maxfield Park Health Centre @<br />
10:00 a.m. (uniform/shirts/polo shirts to be<br />
worn)<br />
• Saturday, October 22, 2011 - Fun Day, Iberostar Hotel, Montego Bay<br />
@ 10:00 a.m.<br />
For the Open Day the format that was used in the Western Region last year will be used<br />
this year. There will be different booths set up representing the different aspects of<br />
medical records and each region will be responsible as follows:-<br />
1. Western Region - Medico legal, coding and abstracting, medical records in<br />
general<br />
2. Southern - Statistics<br />
3. North East - Filing system, registration and appointments<br />
4. South East - Births and Deaths<br />
The cost for the day pass for the fun day is US$50.00. A deposit of 50 % is expected to<br />
be paid to the hotel by October 5, 2011. As such, we are requesting that all interested<br />
persons make their payments by September 30, 2011 to the Regional Health Records<br />
Administrators who will then submit same to Miss Marjorie Hendricks,<br />
Secretary/Treasurer, JMRA. A final count per region of participants for this activity is<br />
urgently requested for final preparations/arrangements to be made.<br />
It is expected that all regions support the planned activities.<br />
