United Infrastructure Projects (<strong>UIProjects</strong>), CA, USA has<br />
the largest local engineering office in Kabul. <strong>UIProjects</strong> has<br />
successfully completed assignments on Afghan projects worth over<br />
$25 million.<br />
FCEC is the largest local Afghan contractor with proven track record on over $8 million worth of construction<br />

FCEC – <strong>UIProjects</strong> JV has over 40 engineers in all<br />
fields and 80 construction equipment, including the<br />

AACA Video Conferencing Facility<br />
<strong>UIProjects</strong> was extremely innovative in overcoming design,<br />
procurement, delivery, and installation obstacles presented by unique<br />
systems built for the first time in Afghanistan. The design started in<br />
May 2002, and the facility was inaugurated in September 2002.<br />
IMF Housing and Office<br />
This IMF $600,000 contract of the<br />
housing compound, and office<br />
quarters in Afghanistan<br />
Central Bank building was<br />
completed January 2003.<br />

This is a US Corps of<br />

$325,000 contract to<br />
rehabilitate several buildings, and build new additions.<br />
Military Academy Rehabilitation<br />
This is over a $1,000,000 US Corps of<br />
Engineers/ Contrack<br />
International to rehabilitate<br />
the dining facility and 6 other<br />
buildings in Kabul Military<br />
Training Facility.<br />
USAID/LBG Kandahar Road Bridges<br />
<strong>UIProjects</strong> designed the repair of 36<br />
minor damaged bridges on the Kabul to<br />
Kandahar Road. The work involves<br />
surveying, soil, structural, and hydraulics<br />
investigations & design.<br />
Kabul Airport Runway<br />
Rehabilitation<br />
This AWCC/Scott Wilson <strong>Design</strong> and<br />
Supervision $15 million rehabilitation<br />
project is underway, with <strong>UIProjects</strong><br />
responsible for surveying, soil testing, asbuilts<br />
and drainage design, as well providing local supervision staff.<br />
Passengers Building – Kabul<br />
Airport<br />
This GTZ project involved the rehabilitation<br />
of the customs and passenger facilities.<br />
The design is focused on the arrival and<br />
departure lounges, but involved a master<br />
plan for the whole facility.<br />
US Embassy Compound Project<br />
<strong>UIProjects</strong> completed several consulting assignment under a Master<br />
Agreement with Kellogg Brown and Root for the new $110 million US<br />
Embassy Compound.<br />
National Security Building, Presidential Palace<br />
This Crown Agents project involves the architectural/civil design of<br />
the rehabilitation of the existing building and the addition of an Annex.<br />
ISAF Admin Building<br />
This $600,000 GTZ project involved the<br />
rehabilitation of 5,000 m 2 of office<br />
space, complete with new<br />
electromechanical systems.<br />
ISAF Security Gate & Logistics Road<br />
This $1,100,000 GTZ project involved the design and tender of a new<br />
concrete pavement road network inside the ISAF Jallabad Rd Camp.<br />
Presidential Palace & 5<br />
Ministries Networks<br />
<strong>UIProjects</strong> has successfully completed in<br />
August 2002 a World Bank funded<br />
broadband telephone and data network in<br />
the Presidential Palace and five Ministries. .<br />
IMF Data, Voice and Security System<br />
This involved installing data, voice and security systems. The<br />
network is connected to next door World Bank office VSAT system.<br />
US Corps of Engineers Kabul Offices<br />
This is a Contrack International project for the installation of electrical<br />
wiring and A/C systems, and was completed in record time.<br />
WB Compound Security System<br />
This involves installing networked security system at 7 dispersed<br />
World Bank properties in Wazir Akbar Khan, Kabul, Afghanistan.<br />
ISAF Heliport Pad Project<br />
This $1,200,000 GTZ project involved<br />
the design of a new heliport at Kabul<br />
Airport, complete with hanger<br />
foundations, apron, and taxiway.<br />
AWCC HO, Restaurant and Internet Cafe<br />
Preliminary design and budget for this $700,000 project.<br />
AWCC Operation Building<br />
<strong>Design</strong> and supervision of this new AWCC Yakatoot<br />
switching/operation building at Yakatoot, Kabul.<br />
Ministry of Education Interior <strong>Design</strong><br />
UNICEF funded space planning and interior design project for the<br />
renovated Ministry of Education head quarter in Kabul<br />
