führenden Herstellern beim Thema Wasserersparnis. Wir zählen
Damit leisten wir einen erheblichen Beitrag zur Gebäudezerti-
neuen Deutsche Bank-Türme in Frankfurt mit GreenGain und
proDetect ausgerüstet.
Eigens für dieses Projekt entwickelte das Villeroy & Boch
Innovationsteam GreenGain Toiletten. Statt der üblichen 6 Liter
Wasser werden nun nur noch 3,5 Liter Wasser pro Spülung und

of the first suppliers of a 3 / 4.5 litre ush and we lead the
field with our GreenGain technology (2 / 3.5 litres). In this
way, we make a major contribution to building certification
in accordance with LEED, HQE and DGNB. Villeroy & Boch
has fitted the new Deutsche Bank towers in Frankfurt with
GreenGain and proDetect.
The Villeroy & Boch innovation team developed GreenGain
toilets especially for this project. Instead of the usual 6 litres
of water needed to ush the toilet, only 3.5 litres are used
per ush and, in water-saving mode, just 2 litres.

und Tunnelöfen und recyclen sämtliche überschüssigen Rohstoffe,
die während der Produktion anfallen von der Masse bis zur

Does sustainability start in production? Of course it
does. In production, we use the waste heat from all drying and
tunnel kilns and recycle all excess raw materials that occur
during production – ranging from ceramic material to glaze.
International certificates are testimony to our responsibility for
the environment: EMAS (Eco Management and Audit Scheme)
and ISO 14001 (international environmental management
standard) certification.
Prägt interdisziplinäres Teamwork die Zukunft?
Wir meinen ja und beteiligten uns an einem Verbundprojekt des
Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung. Mit Industriepartnern,
Forschungsinstituten und Universitäten entwickelten
wir gemeinsam ein System für einen geschlossenen Wasserkreislauf,
in dem sogar Grauwasser zu Trinkwasser aufbereitet
werden kann. Dieses System ist in jede erdenkliche Projektgröße
skalierbar. Diese Technik kann weltweit in Projekte mit einem
eigenen, geschlossenen Wasserkreislauf eingesetzt werden.
Does interdisciplinary teamwork shape the future?
We think so, and we took part in a joint project of the Federal
Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in Germany. We
collaborated with industrial partners, research institutes and
universities on the development of a system for a closed water
circuit in which even grey water can be processed into drinking
water. This system is scalable to all conceivable project sizes.
This technology can be used all over the world in projects with
their own closed water circuit.
