• Ensure safety and falls prevention
• Bed rest with safety sides in situ (as
appropriate) and a head position angle of
30 degrees or gentle mobilisation with direct
supervision
• Supervised toileting at bedside
• Oral care caution using toothbrushes and
suctioning
• Personal hygiene - avoid wet shaving
• Skin care and regular position changes for
pressure relief
• Care of IV cannula sites
