The Fieldbus technology has become well-established in recent years alongside<br />
with conventional installations.<br />
Most new systems as well as modernizations apply solutions on the basis of<br />
Profibus or Fieldbus Foundation technology. In this area Fieldbus barriers and<br />
High Energy Trunk concept have replaced the FISCO installation as far as<br />
possible.<br />
STAHL offers the full product range for supply, installation and diagnosis of<br />
fieldbus segments in zone 1 and zone 2 including the required housing and<br />
system solutions.<br />

<strong>System</strong> <strong>Solutions</strong> For Fieldbus And Remote I/O<br />
Different applications and requirements nowadays lead to use of several generations<br />
of field devices - 4...20 mA, HART, Profibus DP or Foundation Fieldbus<br />
H1. Besides, mechanical concepts must be adapted to applications and<br />
environmental conditions.<br />
STAHL develops in cooperation with its customers a range of optimum components<br />
and technologies to be applied as well as their mechanical implementation.<br />
As a result we have a system for all applications and requirements.<br />
SIL - Functional Safety With Remote I/O And<br />
Point-to-point Connections<br />
Safety-relevant applications are mostly still run using conventional technology.<br />
Due to the lack of suitable certified safety Fieldbus devices, sometimes it<br />
is the only solution option.<br />
For this purpose, STAHL offers two solutions:<br />
Either the classic point-to-point connection via Ex i isolators for SIL 2 and SIL<br />
3 requirements or using Fieldbus communication and Remote I/O.<br />
For the IS1 system there is a PROFIsafe solution available which is suitable<br />
for SIL 2 applications.<br />
