OFFICIALS ON TOUR
Throughout the tour the group and the players in particular are guided by both the hosts in the
destinations we travel to, and our own tour officials who accompany the tour from Australia looking after
all the tour arrangements and first and foremost providing supervision of the players. Their other roles will
include coaching and managing the teams during games and training.
SUPPORTERS & OFFICIALS (Additional Document Request)
Please note that all officials and supporters 18 years old and above must have a Blue Card or similar.
We request you to email a copy of your Blue Card or similar to us ASAP. If you don’t have one, please
contact us, so we can arrange the appropriate form for your aplication.
FACEBOOK GROUP
Get to know your team mates and keep informed by joining the Brazil Tour Facebook Group. It's also
great for your friends and family while you are away as they can stay updated with your tour and see
photos and posts. Here is the link to the group:
CLIMATE
August is a particularly pleasant time to visit Brazil, with the weather being warm and fresh. During your
visit in Brazil the average temperatures at that time of the year range anywhere from minimums of 14 o C
degrees and getting up to maximums of around 26 o C.
MONEY WHILE YOU'RE ON TOUR
The currency of Brazil is the Real. While most costs are taken care of already for your tour you will need
to budget for your lunches and personal spending. We recommend budgeting at least $500 Australian
dollars for this.
For money while you're on tour it's usually best to exchange some cash into Real before you go so you
can start with some cash in hand when you arrive. Then as a backup it's best to take a eftpos card that
will allow you to withdraw cash from an ATM over there. Also the card must have CIRRUS on the back of
the card to work in Brazil. Please check with your bank what the best option for you is.
If you get a new card for travel please make sure you activate it before you leave on tour and if you are
using a current card please let your bank know you are travelling overseas before you leave so they will
be aware of your transactions from places outside of Australia and not freeze your card.
If you are concerned about the amount of cash you are carrying you can always give it to a tour official to
look after it for you. Do not use travellers cheques. Check out www.xe.com for the most up to date
currency rate.
$500 Australian Dollar = $1,062 BRL Real (currently)
PASSPORT COPY
To travel to Brazil, Australians are required to obtain Visa’s prior to arrival. Australian Futsal organizes
this all for you.
All tour members must send in a copy of the photo page of their passport as soon as possible. We need
this to confirm correct spelling and details. Without it we cannot book your flights. If you do not yet have a
passport or need to renew please get this process under way immediately to ensure there are no hold ups
with your tour arrangements. Passport application forms can be found at the post office. For further
information please visit https://www.passports.gov.au/Web/index.aspx
Also you will need a passport valid at list 6 month before the day you return.
PAYMENTS & BALANCES
At this stage a deposit payment should have been contributed toward the tour with the next payment date
due on December 5 th . Please revise your initial invitation to ensure you are up to date.
FLIGHTS AND ACCOMMODATION DETAILS
As just mentioned a copy of your passport is required to be able to book your flight.
Due to circumstances in past tours, that have put our group at risk, the tour flights will be released one
week before your trip. The tour itinerary and the accommodation details will be available 2 days before
your trip. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this causes, but the safety and security of the
touring group is paramount. If you are planning on 'following' the tour, we request you do not book into
the same hotel as the tour, as legally and for insurance reasons we have no jurisdiction over your actions.
If you have relatives or friends wishing to visit the players or tour members, we request they do not
contact us until after the second day of the tour. This allows us time to settle in.
ALTERNATIVE FLIGHTS
At times some tour members may like to extend their stay in the tour location or arrive prior to the tour. In
these cases we arrange your alternative flights to synchronize as much as possible with the tours flights.
Any additional cost is payable by the individual at the time of booking. We will also extend your tour
insurance to cover the dates of your travel. Any additional charge for insurance is payable by the tour
member. To be eligible you must fill out an alternative flights online booking form. To do this please go to
www.australianfutsal.com then click on (not just hover above) International Tours on the right hand side.
Once on this page scroll to almost the very bottom where you'll find the current tour members section.
Here you can click on the link to fill in the online form for an alternative flights request. No verbal or email
requests will be taken.
ACCOMMODATION SINGLE SUBSIDY
Supporters please note that if you are traveling alone you will be rooming with another supporter of the
same gender in a twin share room as players are roomed with players and supporters with supporters.
There may be limited single subsidy arrangements available also if you feel this doesn't suit. Please email
me to confirm what extra cost is applicable for this option.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
Travel insurance is included in the price of your tour. We recommend that you do not take any
unnecessary valuables with you on tour such as expensive jewelry. Please take extra care if bringing
items such as cameras, phones, laptops, iPads etc as some item limits may apply if lost or stolen. For the
policy details please go to the following link:
http://futsal.omnisportsmanagement.com/Portals/6/Documents/Rachel/policydetails2013.pdf
VACCINATIONS & MEDICAL
There is a compulsory vaccination required for entry into Brazil, Yellow Fever, however it's recommended
you visit your local practitioner or travel doctor 4 to 6 weeks prior to travel for personal medical advice in
relation to your travel. This is also a handy site to visit for some information:
http://www.myvaccination.com.au/travel.aspx
Once you have the Yellow Fever booklet, please send a copy to us.
If you don't know where to get your yellow fever vaccination check this website:
www.yellowfever.com.au
On tour the officials will have a basic medical kit. It's a good idea to take some of your own medical travel
provisions such as pain killers (panadol or similar), gastrolyte (for hydration), immodium (for diarrhoea)
and strapping tape for any preventative strapping.
If you are taking any prescribed medications you'll need a letter from your doctor to verify your
medications are needed for travel as they may ask for this through customs. Please ensure you also
make a note of it on your medical form and notify us if you require a tour officials assistance to administer
or look after it during the tour.
INJURY & ILLNESS
If at any time while on tour you fall ill or sustain an injury please alert a tour official immediately. They will
tend to you and direct you to further assistance if needed. If there is an expense in relation to your injury
or illness the cost of that expense is to be paid by the individual at that time. As insurance is provided for
all tour members, certain illness and injury expenses can be claimed back once returned. The claims
process is undertaken by the individual and is not a responsibility Australian Futsal can carry out
meaning when the expense occurs it has to be paid for by the individual so it can be claimed back later.
We recommend if this occurs you keep all relevant receipts. When you return from tour you can then
contact us and we'll show you how to make a claim for your expenses.
TEAM LISTS
Congratulations to the following boys for being selected and accepted your place on the tour!
