PRESS RELEASE
A fanfare for “B-Tronic”
Becker’s home automation system presented at a special event
The moment we had all been waiting for finally arrived in March: Becker-
Antriebe showcased its new “B-Tronic” home automation system at a special
event in Herborn, Germany. The company has thus taken a step in a new
direction: The new home automation system is not only designed to program
and control roller shutter and awning drives – the core products of Becker-
Antriebe –, but also lights, radiators and other electronically controllable
appliances. Special feature: All the devices indicate their status. This allows,
for example, the user to see on the screen whether a roller shutter is fully
closed or if it has encountered an obstacle, such as a forgotten flower pot.
Premiere in Herborn
The well-known local radio and TV presenter Achim
van der Meulen unveiled the new product together
with Becker CEO Dieter Fuchs. Members of the project
team then took the time to answer any questions
about B-Tronic’s performance and special features.
“It is the first time that we have presented a product
on this scale – and it was a huge success,” says
Dieter Fuchs.
Future-proof due to a standard interface
Bernd Naumann, head of development at Becker, praised his team of
experts: “The teamwork was amazing. Everyone gave their absolute best
– and that in the short space of time available.” A main advantage of the
system is the wireless communication: “B-Tronic is based on future-proof
standards for radio-controlled home automation which have proven their
reliability for many years now. Therefore, a whole range of products from
other manufacturers are compatible with B-Tronic.” This means that every
appliance - from lamps to radiators - can be programmed and controlled via
B-Tronic. The system is absolutely future-proof.
PRESS RELEASE
The “from anywhere” control
The new home automation system can be fully controlled via the
CentralControl. A WLAN connection is required for operation via a smartphone,
tablet PC or home computer. It is not necessary to register the devices
online with Becker. However, Becker also allows users to control their homes
from a different location, for instance from a smartphone while on holiday: All
the customer has to do is to establish remote access via the Internet.
Becker provides this service free of charge via an encrypted Internet connection.
“Customers decide for themselves how much comfort they want and
whether the CentralControl should be operated via the Internet or not. “At
Becker we take the protection of our customers’ data very seriously indeed,”
says marketing manager Uwe Happel.
Live on the Internet
The curiosity of specialist retailers about the new product was well and truly
aroused before the premiere. Under the motto “B curious” – Becker sent
small pieces of information on the new product to authorised dealers as a
sort of countdown to the special event. The show could then be followed via
live stream throughout Germany on 5 March.
“Becker has been committed to realising the benefits of new media technology
for a long time,” claims the managing partner Hans-Joachim Wiegelmann.
Before adding: “We use this medium to offer our specialist partners quick
and comprehensive support – in particular for the new home automation system.”
Furthermore, specialist dealers can also arrange an appointment with
Becker representatives and witness the benefits of B-Tronic for themselves.
“It is essential that our specialist partners receive the necessary support. At
Becker we really live up to our motto: ‘Together it’s easier’.”
