Provincal Team Trainings and other Training events
Our Students are encouraged to attend the Provincal Team Trainings and
training events as posted by Judo Mb. Eligible students will be contacted.
Tournament Schedule for 2012-13 Season
Tournament participation is seen as a real world test of one’s learning judo. At
the novice level the winning or losing of a match or tournament is considered
secondary; the importance of the day is on the testing of one’s self. Once
students have achieved a yellow belt and are nine years old they are given the
opportunity to participate in tournaments. Students compete only with the
Sensei’s and Parents Permission. It is to be noted that participation in
tournament is encouraged but not mandatory. If it is the student’s desire not to
participate in tournament; then other measures are used to measure their
learning such as ability shown during the Randori or Free Practice. This year’s
schedule is tentative at this time. As the actual dates are established, they will
be announced in class.
Club Fundraising for 2012-13 Season
Our Club has been very successful in the past with the idea that more hands
doing what they can make for a successful fundraising activity. It is felt that by
4

giving everyone a chance to contribute during the year we can do more for our
students. Funds raised have gone to sending students to Peace Gardens,
