The following key is provided for use in the Upl<strong>and</strong> provinces of Georgia, Alabama, <strong>and</strong><br />

southeastern Tennessee for Scutellaria with few, erect stems, leafbases truncate or tapered<br />

(never strongly cordate), <strong>and</strong> crenate or serrate leafmargins. (Key from Bridges 1 984b.)<br />
